Basic factors in designing of tall buildings are safety, occupant’s comfort and economy. The application of composite construction in tall and super tall buildings is reaching presently more than 40% of total number of tall buildings. The paper describes various solutions applied in the structural systems of composite tall buildings. Several examples of recently erected tall buildings are mentioned and their structural systems are characterized (solutions of composite mega-columns, composite walls, connections). Trends for the future of composite construction in tall buildings are discussed.
