Problems that arise during repair of WKF (detached fermentation chamber) type tanks are presented in the paper. This type of tanks is commonly used in sewage treatment plants. Since many defects appear during exploitation and even during erection, various methods of repair are elaborated. One of the most effective methods is post-tensioning of a structure. It requires a detailed analysis which are different than used in pre- and post-tensioned structures. The incontrovertible advantage of his method is extend of the structure lifetime, increase of reliability and safety. Instead of demolition and erection of a new structure the existing infrastructure is used so economical and ecological effects are also evident.
