W artykule przedstawiono przesłanki i efekty modernizacji Laboratorium Podstaw Pomiarów na Wydziale Elektroniki i Technik Informacyjnych Politechniki Warszawskiej. Zastosowanie licznych nowatorskich rozwiązań składających się na kompleksową modernizację spowodowało zdecydowana poprawę jego oceny przez studentów – bez obniżania poziomu nauczania.

Complex modernization of Measurement Fundamentals Laboratory in the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology Warsaw University of Technology is described in this presentation. Due to the negative critical opinion of students we decided to implement new ideas into our educational system. All aspects of laboratory functioning were modified i.e. the teaching program, lab organization, equipment, IT system and personnel duties. Totally new high quality equipment was bought via the European funds. Laboratory manuals and information’s for each experiment also instruments data are available in Intranet. Student reports are entirely prepared on computers during each session and stored in electronic form on the faculty server later. Multimedia presentations and simulations acting as additional aids were also prepared and given to students. So-called Open Laboratory sessions were additionally introduced. Our students can practice on available equipment and prepare themselves to regular sessions. We have already finished the first semester of the new lab. The special survey was conducted. Students have evaluated very positively the new form of our laboratory and recognized them as being more friendly. From the point of the staff view it was achieved without any decrease of educationally required qualifications. The modernization was realized by the team of 10 persons during the period of two years.
