Za pomocą analizy termicznej i badań rentgenograficznych potwierdzono zachodzenie w badanych układach reakcji pucolanowej, w której zawarta w gezie aktywna krzemionka reaguje z wodorotlenkiem wapnia, powstałym z hydrolizy alitu.

In the paper the effect of calcareous gaize addition on the reaction of alite with water. The addition of calcareous gaize was changed in the range 5% to 20% by mass of alite and this mixture accelerated the reaction of alite with water. The increase of the degree of alite hydrolysis was proportional to the gaize content. Application of XRD and DTA the pozzolanic reaction in this system was confirmed in which calcium hydroxide is reacting with active silica introduced with the gaize addition. The heat of hydration is also higher even of about 39% which is confirming also the quicker alite reaction. The experimental results the high gaize chemical activity are showing and fully confirm the usefulness of this rock as mineral addition in cement technology.
