PL

Tworzywa sztuczne są organicznymi polimerami wytworzonymi w wyniku reakcji polimeryzacji węglowodorów stanowiących składowe ropy naftowej. Od 1907 r., kiedy to powstało pierwsze tworzywo – bakelit – wypracowano i zoptymalizowano tanie technologie masowej produkcji materiałów charakteryzujących się niewielką masą, obojętnością chemiczną i odpornością na korozję. Atrybuty te spowodowały wykorzystanie tworzyw sztucznych na skalę masową, praktycznie w każdej sferze życia.
