Dokonano analizy dyrektyw UE, dokumentów SET-Planu, programu Horizon 2020, Wspólnych Programów Badawczych European Energy Research Alliance (EERA), Joint Research Centre (JRC), European Industrial Bioenergy Initiative (EIBI), European Biofuels Technology Platform (EBTP), European Biomass Association (AEBIOM), European Biomass Industry Association (EUBIA) i European Environment Agency (EEA) pod kątem stanu rozwoju technologii bioenergetycznych w Europie i proponowanych priorytetów badawczych w tym zakresie.
The aim of this review is to analyse development trends of research in Europe in the field of bioenergy with reference to documents of the EU and newly emerging initiatives, often the grass-roots ones. There has been conducted an analysis of the EU directives, SET-Plan documents, program Horizon 2020, Joint Research Programmes of European Energy Research Alliance (EERA), Joint Research Centre (JRC), European Industrial Bioenergy Initiative (EIBI), European Biofuels Technology Platform (EBTP), European Biomass Association (AEBIOM), European Biomass Industry Association (EUBIA) and European Environment Agency (EEA). The analysis referred to the development level of bioenergy technologies in Europe and suggested research priorities in this area. On the basis of documents prepared by the European Commission and within respective initiatives there has been evaluated the state of advancement of technologies concerning combustion and gasification of biomass, biomass co-combustion with coal, cogeneration with biomass, pyrolysis, anaerobic digestion, torrefaction, energy conversion of waste and use of landfill gas, hydrogen production from biomass, bio-refineries and biofuel production of the first, second and third generation. Finally, presented are emerging research needs, challenges and technological problems requiring urgent solutions.
