The paper presents the main trends of the search for ecological conditioning of human health such as toxicology, clinical research, and epidemiology. The purpose of the paper is to determine the influence of the state of environment on health of Polish society j and to prove that it should be treated as one of the crucial determinants of eco-development, The impact of the state of environment on the health of the society was presented on the basis of epidemiological data and the research results. They prove that there is an interdependence between the state of environment and the health of the community. The research confirms the necessity to look for the causes of civilisation diseases in the living environment where natural environment cannot be ignored.
