EN

Reinforced concrete structures often exhibit damage (such as cracks) which can be monitor by the changes in dynamic properties. In turn, dynamic properties of structures depends on their stiffness particularly of the modulus of elasticity. In this paper modal analysis was used to test the dynamic modulus of elasticity of hardened concrete. Experiment was conducted on a un-reinforced, simply supported concrete beam. Results indicate that this method can be effectively use to determine the modulus of elasticity of concrete.
