Wydaje się, że kwestia detalu w architekturze nie powinna budzić żadnych kontrowersji. W holistycznym ujęciu przestrzeni detal architektoniczny jest tylko jednym z elementów składających się na całość dzieła. Jego niewielka skala decyduje o najbardziej fizycznym, namacalnym doświadczeniu przestrzeni. W klasycznych ujęciach psychologii środowiskowej podstawowe modele opisujące odbiór przestrzeni kładą nacisk na odpowiednią wagę i trafność bodźców. Odczuwanie przestrzeni oparte jest na bezpośrednich doświadczeniach bodźców zewnętrznych przez receptory zmysłowe; jest także uzupełnione o racjonalne i analityczne przeżycie ich przez człowieka. Architektura współcześnie przekracza euklidesowe wymiary wkraczając w świat wirtualny. W artykule podjęto rozważania dotyczące miejsca detalu w cyfrowym świecie oraz możliwości jego prawidłowego odczytania.

It seems that the issue of detail in architecture shouldn't arouse any controversy. In a holistic grasp of space architectural detail is just on of the elements that compose the whole work. Its little scale decides about the most physical, perceptible experience of space. In classical theories of environmental psychology the basic models that describe the reception of space emphasize the proper significance and accuracy of stimuli. Feeling the space is based on the direct experience of external stimuli via the sensorial receptors. It is also completed by its rational and analytical experience. Recently architecture goes beyond the Euclidean sizes and enters a virtual world. This article takes up a reflection about the place of detail in a digital world and about the possibilities of is proper interpretation.
