The paper discusses the problem of placing horizontal shelves on the heating effect and performance of radiator. Results of invstigations shown clearly that the best option is a window without sills. Such configuration asures maximum efficiency. The smaller width of window sill, the higher efficiency. Similarly, the height of sill above radiator. Bigger values of sill height asure higher efficiency of heat-exchanger. Before installing the shelves of such type it should be reconsidered whether we want a more practical use of sills (often as a shelf for plants or books) or on more favorable terms of air circulation in the room and higher efficiency.
