The choice of acid composition for the treatment of carbonate reservoirs, which include up to 40-60% of clay inclusions, must be in comprehensive research of the formulations' influence on the changes in the physico-chemical characteristics of the cores. It is established, that mineral acids quickly destroy the carbonate component of the reservoir and lead to a deterioration of rocks' filtration properties. Moreover, hydrochloric acid converts the clay component of rock into plasticine-like mass, which is guaranteed to help blocking the channels formed by dissolution during the development of a well after deviation. Additions of organic acids, ammonium-containing salts and high-atomic alcohols partially neutralize the influence of hydrochloric acid, but the amount of hydrochloric acid in the mixture should be minimal — no more than 3-5%.
