In the area of Suwałki occur the principal structuro-tectonic units of the Precambrian crystalline basement. Characteristic is the anorthosite association of the Suwałki Massif associated with Mesoproterozoic rapakivi-like granitoids and Palaeoproterozoic relicts of granitoid blocks and metamorphic folded structures among which enderbitès and charnockites were ascertained. Rocks assigned to the Masurian Complex, i.e., anorthosite and rapakivi-like granitoid massifs, formed a structure featured by the specific style of fault tectonics (N-S and W-E). On the geophysical picture, a structure of the deep basement has been marked; it may reflect the traces of history of the Precambrian East European Platform.

Na obszarze Suwalszczyzny zbiegają się główne jednostki trukturalno-tektoniczne prekambryjskiego podłoża krystalicznego. Charakterystyczna jest asocjacja anortozytów z mezoproterozoicznymi granitoidami rapakiwipodobnymi i reliktami paleoproterozoicznych bloków granitoidowych i metamorficznych struktur fałdowych, wśród których stwierdzono enderbity i charnockity. Skały kompleksu mazurskiego, masywy anortozytowe i granitoidy rapakiwipodobne, utworzyły strukturę o własnym stylu tektoniki uskokowej (N-S i W-E). W obrazie geofizycznym zaznaczyła się struktura głębokiego podłoża i być może ślady historii prekambryjskiej płyty wschodnioeuropejskiej.
