A possibility of exploiting wasted heat and converting it into electric energy by means of different energy systems becomes more and more popular. The ORC system is one of the ways for small applications, for example, to recover waste heat from engine exhaust gases. The selection of an adequate design of the machine is a key factor to maximize efficiency of the ORC. This paper presents small turbines for power generation applications with particular attention focuses on the progress observed in recent years.
