The paper describes an appropriate methodology for the dynamic analysis of complex, threedimensional single wheelset running on turnout. A methodology is developed here for the aceurate deseription of the track spatial geometry. A generic contact formulation is also proposed in order to determine, during the dynamic analysis, the location of the wheel-rail contact points. An elastic force model that allows computing of the normal contact force in the wheel-rail interface. The tangential contact forces are calculated using one of creep force models; Polach method.
