PL

Ogrody terapeutyczne to specyficzny typ założeń ogrodowych o charakterze użytkowym. Można spotkać je przy placówkach medycznych i opiekuńczych, bywają też zakładane w parkach i ogrodach botanicznych. Należą do nich miejsca umożliwiające użytkownikom tylko bierny kontakt z naturą, a także specjalne ogrody wykorzystywane do prowadzenia zajęć terapeutycznych dla osób chorych i niepełnosprawnych. Tego typu założenia popularne są w USA i krajach Europy Zachodniej, pojawiają się też w Polsce (ogrody przyszpitalne, sensoryczne, ogrody dla osób niepełnosprawnych). Praca prezentuje zarys historii ogrodów terapeutycznych, znaczenie kontaktu z naturą dla zdrowia ludzi oraz ogólne zasady projektowania ogrodów wykorzystywanych do celów terapeutycznych.

Therapeutic gardens represent special type of functional gardens. They can be seen at the medical and care centers, they are established also in parks, botanical gardens. They include special gardens used for therapeutic workshops for the ill and the disabled, as well as places enabling users only passive contact with nature. Gardens of this type are popular in the USA and Western Europe, and appear also in Poland (hospital and sensory gardens, gardens for the disabled). Paper presents brief history of the therapeutic gardens, role of contact with nature for human health and general rules of designing gardens used for the therapeutic purposes.
