Zabrze jest miastem poprzemysłowym, które zdecydowało się na budowanie swojej przyszłości m.in. na podstawie dziedzictwa kulturowego, w szczególności dziedzictwa przemysłowego (industrial heritage) i rozwój sektora turystyki postindustrialnej. Zabrze nie jest przypadkiem wyjątkowym, gdyż wiele miast zachodnioeuropejskich i amerykańskich decydowało się na regenerację opartą na dziedzictwie i sektorze kultury (cultural-led regeneration).

The article is attempt to present the transition from industrial to post-industrial city on the example of Zabrze. First of all, the places and institutions which play roles of magnets (icons of city) in Zabrze was identified. This allowed to indicate industrial tourism as a core creative industries in Zabrze. The second part of the article describes in details products of creative industry based on industrial heritage and culture. In the third part of the text author focuses on discussing the relationships between stakeholders forming the creative industries in Zabrze. In this regard, the concept of supply chain was used.
