Modern human civilization is characterized by one of the actual problem, the protection of natural environment from pollution and depletion of water resources.

Obrotowe i zamknięte obiegi wodne to najbardziej obiecujące sposoby na ograniczenie zużycia słodkiej wody. Prawdopodobnie w przyszłości oczyszczone ścieki staną się głównym źródłem wody w rolnictwie. Słodka woda będzie dostępna dla zapotrzebowania domowego.
