Content available remote Behavior of Jupiter Non-Trojan Co-Orbitals

Searching for the non-Trojan Jupiter co-orbitals we have numerically integrated orbits of 3160 asteroids and 24 comets discovered by October 2010 and situated within and close to the planet co-orbital region. Using this sample we have been able to select eight asteroids and three comets and analyze their orbital behavior in a great detail. Among them we have identified five new Jupiter co-orbitals: (241944) 2002 CU147, 2006 S.A.387, 2006 QL39, 2007 GH6, and 200P/Larsen, as well as we have analyzed six previously identified co-orbitals: (118624) 2000 HR24, 2006 UG185, 2001 QQ199, 2004 AE9, P/2003 WC7 LINEAR-CATALINA and P/2002 AR2 LINEAR. (241944) 2002 CU147 is currently on a quasi-satellite orbit with repeatable transitions into the tadpole state. Similar behavior shows 2007 GH6 which additionally librates in a compound tadpole-quasi-satellite orbit. 2006 QL39 and 2000P/Larsen are the co-orbitals of Jupiter which are temporarily moving in a horseshoe orbit occasionally interrupted by a quasi-satellite behavior. 2006 S.A.387 is moving in a pure horseshoe orbit. Orbits of the latter three objects are unstable and according to our calculations, these objects will leave the horseshoe state in a few hundred years. Two asteroids, 2001 QQ199 and 2004 AE9, are long-lived quasi-satellites of Jupiter. They will remain in this state for a few thousand years at least. The comets P/2002 AR2 LINEAR and P/2003 WC7 LINEAR-CATALINA are also quasi-satellites of Jupiter. However, the non-gravitational effects may be significant in the motion of these comets. We have shown that P/2003 WC7 is moving in a quasi-satellite orbit and will stay in this regime to at least 2500 year. Asteroid (118624) 2000 HR24 will be temporarily captured in a quasi-satellite orbit near 2050 and we have identified another one object which shows similar behavior - the asteroid 2006 UG185, although, its guiding center encloses the origin, it is not a quasi-satellite. The orbits of these two objects can be accurately calculated for a few hundred years forward and backward.

The aim of the present research was to determine the influence of undersown crops and stubble crops on the content of mineral forms of nitrogen in soil profile in autumn and spring. Field experiments were carried out at the Experimental Farm in Zawady, owned by the University of Podlasie in Siedlce. The following combinations of intercrops were taken into account: control object (without intercrop), undersown crops - biomass plowed down in autumn (white clover, Italian ryegrass), stubble crop - oiomass plowed down in autumn (oil radish), stubble crop - biomass left in the form of mulch (oil radish) till spring. The content of nitrate and ammonia ions were determined twice, ie in autumn and spring, in two layers of soil (0-30 and 31-60 cm). The results pointed out that, putting the intercrops into the cultivation limited the conrent of mineral nitrogen in soil in autumn, and increased in spring. The highest concentration of nitrate and ammonia ions was noted in soil in spring, when white clover was plowed down. When the surface of soil was mulched with stubble crop from white mustard in the time of winter, it decreased the content of mineral nitrogen in spring.

Celem przeprowadzonych badań było określenie wpływu wsiewek miedzyplonowych i międzyplonów ścierniskowych na zawartość mineralnych form azotu oznaczonego w profilu glebowym jesienią i wiosną. Badania polowe przeprowadzono w RSD w Zawadach należącej do Akademii Podlaskiej w Siedlcach, W doświadczeniu badano następujące kombinacje międzyplonów. obiekt kontrolny (bez międzyplonu), wsiewka międzyplonowa - biomasa przyorana jesienią (koniczyna biała, życica wielokwiatowa), międzyplon ścierniskowy - biomasa przyorana jesienią (rzodkiew oleista), międzyplon ścierniskowy - biomasa pozostawioną do wiosny w formie mulczu (rzodkiew oleista). Zawartość jonów amonowych i azotanowychl oznaczono dwukrotnie, tj. jesienią i wiosną, w dwóch warstwach gleby (0-30 i 31-60 cm). Otrzymane wyniki pozwalają stwierdzić, iż wprowadzenie do uprawy miedzyplonów zmniejszało zawartość azotu mineralnego w glebie jesienią, a zwiększało wiosną. Największe stężenie jonów amonowych i azotanowych odnotowani w glebie wiosną, po przyoraniu koniczyny białej. Mulczowanie powierzchni gleby w okresie zimy międzyplonem ścierniskowym z rzodkwi oleistej zmniejszało zawartość azotu mineralnego wiosną.

Przedstawiono nowatorski sposób otrzymywania octanu 1-benzylo-3-cyklododecyloksymety- lo-2-metyloimidazoliowego oraz zaprezentowano jego strukturę krystaliczną i cząsteczkową. Analizowany związek krystalizuje z dwoma cząsteczkami wody, zaś jego struktura krystaliczna świadczy o obecności silnych wiązań wodorowych typu O-H...O pomiędzy cząsteczkami wody i grupą karboksylową.

In a novel synthesis, 1-benzyl-2-methylimidazole quaterni- zed with chloromethylcyclododecyl ether (prepd. by passing HCl through cyclododecanol + HCOH) gave 1-benzyl-3-cyclododecyloxymethyl-2-methylmidazolium chloride in 98% yield. The chloride was treated in water with AcONa in 20% excess to yield the acetate in 96.4% yield. (plates from MeOH). The dihydrate was centrosymmetric triclinic, space group P-1, and its unit cell consts. were: a 1.0700, b 1.4032, c 1.8294 nm, α 79.12, β 85.27, γ 87.99°, cell vol., 2.6972 nm3, calcd. d. 1.058 g/cm3 at 293K. All bond lengths, valence and torsion angles, non-H atom coordinates, and equiv. isotropic displacements were calcd. The inbuilt H2O mols. form strong (with carboxyl O atom) and weak H-bonds and interact with the imidazolium ring's N atom at the benzyl substituent.

Content available remote Non-Gravitational Effects in Long-Period Comets and the Size of the Oort Cloud

The influence of the non-gravitational effects on the original and future orbital elements of long-period comets and in particular on reciprocals of semi-major axes is analyzed. The new orbit determinations were performed in a homogeneous way using the basic collection of 50 nearly-parabolic comets of first class orbits. The data consist of 20 hypothetically hyperbolic comets (sample I), 11 Oort spike comets (sample II), and 19 "old" comets (sample III). The original and future reciprocals of semi-major axes for each comet were calculated for strictly gravitational case and the non-gravitational case in a fully consistent way. Clear shift of the original reciprocals of semi-major axes toward the more elliptical orbits is confirmed. The average values of the original and future energy changes due to the non-gravitational acceleration are derived for each of three samples independently. Omission of the NG effects significantly affects the position and width of the Oort spike. The shift of the Oort spike position from the standard 1/aori value of 2-4×10-5 a.u.-1 to a value greater than 5.9×10-5 a.u.-1 is discussed.

Influence of the non-gravitational effects on the motion of short-period comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko is investigated. It was found that the normal component of the non-gravitational force exceeds the transverse one and a model of the motion including A1, A2, A3 better fits the observations than model neglecting A3. Assuming asymmetry in g(r) with respect to the perihelion the large value of displacement τ was derived (about 34 days), and very small negative value of transverse component A2 was obtained. The models of rotating non-spherical nucleus also suggest the large shift of light curve with respect to perihelion (τ≥30). The forced precession model of 67P with τ=34 days gives a prolate spheroidal shape of the rotating nucleus with axial ratio Rb/Ra=1.16, rotational period to equatorial radius Prott/Ra=4.6±1.4 hrs/km, and torque factor ftor=3×105 day/a.u. The orientation of spin axis of the nucleus and its evolution are presented. The past and the future dynamical evolution of comet 67P is also widely discussed.

The nongravitational motion of three short-period comets - discovered in the twenties and running on similar heliocentric orbits - has been investigated. We used the Sekanina's forced precession model of the rotating cometary nucleus to include the nongravitational terms into equations of the comet's motion. Values of six precessional parameters: A, η, I, φ, fp and s have been determined along with corrections to orbital elements from astrometric observations of the comets. We were able to link successfully all the observations of each comet over interval of time spanning about seventy years. According to our solutions, the nucleus of comet Reinmuth 1 is oblate whereas those of comets Forbes and Wolf-Harrington are prolate along the spin-axis.
