The paper presents a study based on the questionnaire given to participants of “Winners Training” – a training program which introduced healthy life style to junior high schools students in Mazovia province, and aimed to habituate them to it. The training program consisted of three simultaneous trainings: healthy nutrition training, fitness training and mental training concentrating mainly on development of positive thinking. Skills developed and practiced in these three dimensions were considered as competences necessary to develop a healthy life style and were promoted with the use of films. The paper provides the analysis of observations and opinions of students concerning their participation in the program, the difficulties they experienced and changes which they observed as a result.

Recently, changes to our pace of living and to our quality of life (including demands of our leisure possibilities) have been rapid. We now expect higher standards of living filled with goods, services, and recreation activities unimaginable some decades ago. In the last two decades, there have been massive changes in work, communication, and travel resulting in what could be described as “leisure revolution.” The opportunities have increased in terms of both the time available and the variety of ways in which we can spend this time. Several aspects of physical exercise benefits are well recognized: we know that active recreation is especially stimulating and rewarding and that it helps to achieve sharper mental awareness and heightened consciousness. To be able to enjoy everyday outdoor active recreation and sports (netball, badminton, etc.), there has to be a network of recreation grounds and a supply of facilities that respond to the needs and expectations of society. The study of contemporary trends of leisure provision could be an essential spatial planning tool when contemporary housing estates functional programs are considered. Our research study (conducted on the basis of grants ds-114 and ds-144 AWF JP Warsaw; 2008-2012, supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education) aimed to provide information on present trends in the area of active recreation that could impinge on leisure facilities expected at urban housing estates (outdoor recreation grounds).

Introduction. The current problem of physical inactivity in population is analysed by professionals in various age categories. One of the groups, not that often observed, are university s tudents, who should be able to present their attitude to regular physical activity as well as its contribution to healthy lifestyle. The aim of the research was to find out the structure of physical activities in university students in various study progra mmes (teacher programmes, sport programmes) and also to determine their attitude to physical activity and the reasons for (not) including physical activity in daily regimen. Methods . The research group involved students of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, Comenius University (n=53, 26 men and 27 women), Faculty of Education, University of Trnava (n=53, only women) a University of P. J. Šafárik in Košice (n=45, 30 men, 15 women). The data were collected by questionnaire with open, semi - open and c losed questions. The data were analysed by MS Excel and non - parametric Chi - square test. Results. The students with sports profile presented more positive attitude to physical activity than the other students of other study profile. On the other, hand stude nts of the teacher study profile were least satisfied with the offer of physical activities at their faculty and they would like to perform more activities in their leisure time if they had better conditions. The reasons for not performing physical activit y were also various. Students with teacher profile chose not enough time (52%), however, students with sports profile chose their health condition as the priority (37%). The reasons for including physical activity in daily regimen were in the group of teac her students supporting health and body forming, the other groups of students preferred fun and challenge. The time spent with sedentary activities was not different regarding the study profile but regarding sex. The results showed a clear difference betwe en men and women, where the most men chose 1 - 2 hours of sedentary activities every day, whereas women suggested 3 - 4 hours of sedentary activities. Conclusion. Our research data confirm the importance of analysing the reasons for performing or not performin g physical activities by university students, which could help to create an optimal model of a physical programme for various study profiles. The results suggest that the students of teacher programmes will prefer health - oriented activities with emphasizin g body forming, whereas students of sports programmes will prefer activities focused on performance, challenge and experience.

The paper focuses on the importance of body image as a criterion for preventing the abuse of habit-forming substances. Within this context, spending leisure time actively is considered to fit in with the general trend of following and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, which is an essential contributory factor to the health status of an individual. At present, the expectation is that the ability to maintain a healthy lifestyle and prevent lifestyle diseases will be seriously affected by the Internet and by other interventions. The study found that there is indeed a close correlation between body image and the hazardous behaviour of children and adolescents, in particular with regards to eating disorders, thereby confirming the results of many other studies. Children that practice organised sports were also found to have a greater physical and emotional self-concept. However, no evidence could be found for a link between body image and sports, although sports constitute organised leisure time activities. Nevertheless, the correlation between the dissatisfaction with one´s body image and a healthy lifestyle definitely warrants greater interest to be shown in this topic.

Purpose: This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of health education on adolescents' healthy lifestyle and health perceptions given an adolescent group. Materials and methods: The study's universe constitutes a total of 234 students attending the 9th grade of a high school. The study was constructed according to the single-group pre-test, quasi-experimental research model, in the 9th class in a high school. Data collection form, Adolescent lifestyle scale(ALS) and health perception scale were applied to the adolescents as a pre-test during the first phase of the study. The adolescents who were below the median score of ALS were accepted as the risk group and taken to the experimental group. Adolescents in the experimental group received a 6-week "Health Promotion Program" and a final test was given to the adolescents at the end of the training sessions. Descriptive statistics, Paired-t-test, independent-, and correlation were used in the evaluation of the data. Results: ALS total score was 94.52±9.53 before adolescents' health promotion education and 104.05±15.4 after education. The relationship between them was statistically significant(p<0.05). It was determined that the health perception of adolescents included in the study decreased after post-training total scores compared to the pre-training scores and that this relationship was statistically significant(p<0.05). Conclusion: Public health nurses may be recommended to develop healthy lifestyle behaviours by raising healthy adolescents by providing more adolescent education through school health services.

The article points out that the vector of the new century is the transformation of ideas about goals, leverages and the value of life, the formation of important competencies. The elementary school occupies special place in the structure of secondary education. At the stage of modernization of educational content it is aimed at creating conditions for the establishment of personal training; it focuses on the implementation of competence approach to educational content. The authors define and prove special pedagogical conditions. Their implementation in the educational process of primary school will purposefully affect the formation of children of primary school age health saving competence, which include: 1) formation of pupils’ motivation for a healthy lifestyle and value attitude to health (influences motivational-value component of health saving competence); 2) step by step realization methods of forming the junior pupils health saving competence (influences cognitive-conscious component of health preservation competence); 3) organization of health preservation environment to fixing pupils’ life skills that promote physical, social, mental and spiritual health (ifluences action-behavioral component of health saving competence). The authors characterize the forms of organization of educational process, which will provide an opportunity to get valeological knowledge and improve health saving skills to junior schoolchildren. It is, first of all, the lessons of physical culture, health care, natural sciences, physical education and wellness activities (dynamic pause, athletic minute, and so on); beyond curricula (socializing, training, travel, etc.) and extracurricular (sports clubs, swimming pool, hobby groups, different types of dances and so on) activities; specially organized recreational activities and procedures, minor forms of recreation, which will lead to the formation of the cult of health, the need in a healthy lifestyle, and therefore health saving competence. The article does not exhaust the problem of competency approach to forming in primary school pupils’ health saving knowledge in the educational area. Future directions of our research will be aimed at pedagogical support of the health saving process of junior pupils and lighting the main features of future primary school teachers training to valeological education of pupils.

The problem of unequal facility location involves determining the location of a set of production equipment whose dimensions are different, as well as the interrelationships between each of them. This paper presents an efficient method for optimizing the problem of unequal facility layouts. In this method, the genetic algorithm is improved and developed into an adaptive genetic algorithm. In this algorithm, the mutation operator is applied only when the similarity of chromosomes in each population reaches a certain level. This intelligence prevents jumps in situations where they are not needed and reduces computational time. In order to measure the performance of the proposed algorithm, its performance is compared with the performance of conventional genetic algorithms and refrigeration simulators. Computational results show that the adaptive genetic algorithm is able to achieve higher-quality solutions.

Much like Western societies with developed economies, Polish society has become increasingly consumer-oriented, as is manifested by Poles’ desire for instant pleasure and the search for the meaning and sense of life through the purchase and consumption of goods and services available on the market. Such an approach could be positively or negatively connected with a healthy lifestyle. The aim of our study was to explore the relationship between a healthy lifestyle and the pro-consumer orientation in Poland. The study involved a survey conducted in 2016 on a nationwide sample of 1,000 people. The findings suggest that a pro-consumer orientation is positively correlated with those elements of a healthy lifestyle that are trendy and symbolize membership in certain social groups. On the other hand, this orientation is inversely correlated with behaviors that require constant self-control and do not bring immediate benefits.

The middle class in developed societies is considered a social category leading a special health-oriented lifestyle. At the same time, consumerism is becoming an increasingly important feature of culture of developed societies. It is believed that the health practices allow the middle class to reconcile consumerism with the work ethic, which is considered its hallmark. The aim of the analysis is to define the relationship between consumer orientation and health-oriented lifestyle amongst the Warsaw middle class. The hypothesis was put that consumer orientation is positively associated with such elements of health-oriented lifestyle which symbolize belonging to the middle class and are trendy, and negatively with those that requires constant self-control, and yet do not bring immediate benefits. The results of the study confirmed these hypotheses in part.

The learning of scientific literature of the research problem showed the need of education sector in the field of highly qualified specialists who are capable of social adaptation and creative fulfillment based on saving high efficiency. Today the teacher is an example of a healthy lifestyle for those who study and is the bearer of a culture of health, which he intended to transmit to the younger generation. The culture of health as an integral characteristic of the personality and behavior and activity of the teacher is an indication of his general cultural development and at the same time – a component of his professional culture. Based on the above mentioned, the purpose of our study is creation of a culture of health as a component of teacher profession. The nature and multi-functional specificity of the phenomenon of “culture of health educators” are investigated in this paper as a component of professional culture that reflects the scientifically based and the experience of a healthy lifestyle is proved with the traditions of the nation that the teacher as his bearer passes to the younger generation in their professional activities. The organizational and pedagogical conditions are defined to ensure meaningful impact on the value-motivational, cognitive competence and effectively practical components of the culture of health as part of the professional culture of the teacher, that is self-test diagnostics of the health and the culture of health of the teachers; information support of continuing education of teachers in the field of health culture; personal self-organization of the teacher in a healthy lifestyle based on awareness of health as a value; interaction of the educational process on the basis of a healthy lifestyle; complex of medical and health conditions of health care of the teacher. It is proved that the culture of teacher’s health in the professional activity is a sign of his readiness to activities to preserve and improve the health of students. Creation of the teacher’s culture of health should be carried out on all stages of training in higher pedagogical institution by influencing the cognitive-intellectual, motivational and value-effective and practical areas that make up the integrity of the phenomenon of health (spiritual, moral, mental, physical, social, emotional, and reproductive etc.). This work allows concluding that the problem is urgent in modern education and requires further research. As a professional teacher’s health is not given appropriate attention it is necessary to develop appropriate health-preservation methods and their practical implementation in the educational process of training teachers.

Tracking motion activities through pedometer applications is one of the methods often mentioned for getting information about motion programs and for promoting a healthy lifestyle among adolescents. Similar problems are also addressed in the region of Northwestern Bohemia which is affected by certain structural characteristics. Aim of Study: This study strives to establish indicators of participation in physical activities among students in the second level of primary school (junior high school) and to evaluate them based on recommended criteria as well as from the point of view of the conclusions reached by other studies. Material and Methods: Physical activity was monitored concurrently and objectively by the Yamax SW-700 pedometer for seven consecutive days. Pedometers have proven themselves in a number of studies and are particularly suitable for assessing locomotive movement activities. Identification and recording sheets were used for the registration of the 358 boys and 330 girls from the second level of primary school (junior high school) in the Ústí nad Labem region who went through our survey. Pedometers were used during a period of favorable weather conditions and in the course of normal school attendance. Results: Groups of boys report different values throughout the second level of primary school (junior high school), where the average values of steps during weekdays is higher than 10,000 steps (Mmin=10,111; Mmax=10,961), which is the recommended number of steps, while the weekends record a decrease of values of steps to a number which is less than average (Mmin=8,547; Mmax=9,761). In regard to the results of the girls, the number of daily steps is lower than in the boys' groups (Mmin=9,247; Mmax=10,598). Girls results show the lowest values of steps during the weekend. Conclusion: Boys achieve higher daily values than girls in all tracked pointers. The values of steps that are typical for weekdays are significantly higher than those typical for weekend days. The lowest levels are the median values characterizing the steps taken during the weekend days for boys and girls.

In the article theoretical aspects of development of future teachers’ culture of health by facilities of physical education are revealed. The basic principles, goals and directions of culture of health forming in the students of higher pedagogical education institutions are characterized. The role of physical education in the formation of healthy lifestyle and health culture is outlined. The problem of development of future teachers’ culture of health, formation of stable motivation to physical culture, development of professional values are being investigated by modern scientists and specialists in training in higher education institutions. A number of researchers, referring to the definition of this concept, highlight its physical component, not paying enough attention to socio-psychological and spiritual-moral component of this concept. Therefore, for a holistic and purposeful development of future teachers’ culture of health must have a coherent work of physicians, physiologists, psychologists, sociologists, educators. However, health information that the student receives different stages of learning was not systematic. There is no integrative approach to solve problems related to health. Education on health typically orients young people mainly on treatment rather than on prevention of diseases not giving adequate attention to the ways of overcoming the risk factors and the ability of the organism to withstand adverse environmental influences. We believe that the system of higher pedagogical education should ensure the development of future teachers’ culture of health. The most effectively it can be done in the classroom of physical education. Higher school needs to upgrade the modern lessons of physical culture in such a way as to develop not only physical qualities of students, but also everything that is included in the concept «culture of health». Especially requires upgrading professional-pedagogical preparation, because the health of the younger generation depends on the teacher.

Theoretical aspects of training of a future teacher to creating health saving environment in primary school are substantiated in this article. The analysis of scientific literature that reveals the content of the main concepts (training of the teacher, health, healthy lifestyle, health saving environment, professional activity) was done. Definitions of the concepts «professional training of a future primary school teacher» (a systematic pedagogical process with the aim to master general pedagogical and methodological knowledge and skills by a future teacher, using of which will form professional qualities of a modern teacher of the school of the 1st level) and «training of a future primary school teacher to create health saving environment» (a purposeful process which is a part of his/her professional training and is carried out in order to form readiness of a primary school teacher to create conditions that provide protection and strengthening of the pupils’ health and use of health saving technologies) are provided. Views of the scientists as to the training of a future primary school teacher to form a healthy lifestyle, valeological education and development of health saving environment in educational institutions are determined. Specificrequirements for training future teachers to creating health saving environment in primary schools aimed at formation of competence of health saving culture are defined. To them belong: integrative character of the construction of various forms of work with children; formation and development of sustainable motivation (needs) in systematic physical exercises; creating incentives through the system of children’s favourite exercises;elimination of stress during exercise; compliance with a flexible schedule of conducting sports and wellness activities that take into account everyday mental and physical state of the child; learner-centered approach in joint activities with children; the use of a wide range of exercises for the development of all the aspects of the child taking into account the functional and physical characteristics of the organism development in ontogenesis; daily medical-pedagogical control; formation of ideas about the basic safety of the child in the classroom, formation of ideas about the foundations of culture of health care;diagnostics of the level of physical development, etc.
