The subject of the document is the analysis of tourist-cultural potential of Chojnicki County carried out by Jankowski Tomasz with the use of the method for assessment of microregions potential, published in the monograph by Mikos von Rohrscheidt A. “Cultural Tourism. Phenomenon, potential, perspectives” [Gniezno 2008]. Apart from a short description of the destination and the data on the research procedures, the compilation includes the full valorization form completed on the basis of the carried-out assessment, well as the list of conclusions and suggestions referring to the increase of the potential and cultural tourism organization. The last element of the report is the descriptive material based on the analysis results which present the area as a destination of different forms of cultural tourism.
Transformation of the labor market increases the role of the competence in building a successful career. Career advice in the changing and uncertain reality faces the challenge of expanding the catalog of new working tools for the diagnosis of competence as well as their development. It is important that implemented method were understood by employers and were part of the preparation for specific professional tasks. The purpose of the article is to examine the rules of conducting the assessment center in career advice for people entering the labor market. The characteristic of at the Assessment Center, presented in the study, allows to recognize it as a learning process for adults - not just for students. First part of the article addresses the key features that should characterize a session of the Assessment Center. Then, the author discusses some elements of the process of creating and implementing a session and provides an example of a development project carried out in the office careers of Nicolaus Copernicus University in 2009-2013. The support obtained through this process is particularly focused on the identification of the areas related to the effectiveness of performing professional duties, which makes AC an important working tool for careers advisers, on condition that they are provided with the much larger resources (such as time, an adequate organizational structure unit in charge of counseling , etc.) than it is in case of traditional careers offices.

of animal cells due to forces generated by media agitation and aeration are reviewed. In anchorage-dependent cultures grown in a stirred bioreactor the cell damage is caused by small turbulent eddies of size of the microcarrier beads and by collision between and against the impeller and the stationary parts of bioreactor. In the freely suspended cells grown in stirred or s the cell damage is due mainly to air bibble breakup. The mechanical damages can be limited by an increase of kinematic viscosity of fluid and reduction to the local energy dissipation rate. Biological aspects of shear stress are also discussed.
Anaemia is one of the most frequently diagnosed complications in cancer patients and also occurs during the course of cancer treatment. The condition can be observed in as many as 60–70% of patients who receive chemotherapy or radiotherapy. As a cancer symptom, it is found in 30% of cases and is particularly severe when accompanied by kidney failure. In patients undergoing cancer therapy, anaemia is treated with PRBC transfusions and/or recombinant human erythropoietin. The article discusses 3 case studies of patients with late-stage cancer (pleural mesothelioma, urothelial kidney carcinoma, and lung carcinoma), who suffered from moderate to severe anaemia during aggressive treatment with chemo- and radiotherapy. All 3 patients were treated with erythropoietin, which made it possible for them to stay on chemotherapy and/or undergo radiotherapy. Thanks to erythropoietin, they did not require PRBC transfusions and their general condition and quality of life improved. They tolerated the treatment well and no complications were observed.
The main aim of this article is to present a descriptive social-cognitive model of the adaptive self-concept (ASC) which integrates knowledge concerning the relationship between two aspects of the self-self-awareness and self-knowledge-and optimal functioning. We propose that adaptive self-awareness is moderately frequent, non-ruminative, focused on inner states, and motivated by curiosity. Adaptive self-knowledge is defined as accurate, complex, integrated and consisting of easily accessible self-beliefs, both abstract and concrete. The broader context for the ASC model is discussed, including its regulatory and interpersonal functions and factors which influence ASC development. The limitations of the model are discussed and suggestions are made for future investigations. The pollution of water that is used for consumption and in agricultural holdings contributes to an increased mortality rate, inhibition of growth and physiological functions, changes in the DNA (genotoxicity), changes within tissues (cytotoxicity) and organs of individuals who are exposed to chemical components. One of the most dangerous toxin classes which have effect on animals and humans who come into contact with contaminated water is the class of cyanobacterial toxins released by dying cyanobacteria. They contribute to very serious health conditions and also to fatalities. Toxins of this type are relatively difficult to detect on account of their seasonal changeability in blooming. One of the most effective methods of detecting water contamination automatically and continuously is biomonitoring with the use of Dreissena polymorpha mussels.
The aim of the present study was to investigate the relationship between positive orientation (PO) defined as a basic predisposition to perceive and evaluate positive aspects of life, the future and oneself and the Five-Factor Model of personality (FFM). Hypotheses postulated positive correlations between PO and extraversion, conscientiousness, agreeableness and openness; a negative correlation was predicted between PO and neuroticism. Two hundred Polish students completed the following measures: SES (Self-Esteem Scale, Rosenberg), SWLS (The Satisfaction with Life Scale; Diener, Emmons, Larson & Griffin), LOT-R (The Life Orientation Test - Revised; Scheier, Carver & Bridges) and NEOFFI (NEO Five Factor Inventory, Costa & McCrae). The results confirmed correlations between PO and extraversion, conscientiousness, and neuroticism; correlations with openness and agreeableness were not supported. According to canonical correlations, PO shows a clear affinity to the FFM.

The application of aqueous two-phase systems (ATPS) is a cost-effective and simple method of protein separation (including enzymes) from complex systems. The first stage of designing the protein purification process in an ATPS involves the identification of the conditions for the formation of a given extraction system. For this purpose, the conditions for the formation of ATPSs in a thermoseparating EO50PO50 polymer/potassium phosphates system have been studied. Factors determining the ATPS formation comprised: separation temperature (4ºC or 20ºC), phosphate solution pH (6, 7.5 or 9) as well as the concentration of NaCl introduced into the systems (0.085 M, 0.475 M and 0.85 M). ATPS without NaCl were prepared as well. The conditions for the formation of the primary EO50PO50/potassium phosphate ATPS were determined with their phase diagrams. It was observed that with an increase of phosphate pH and NaCl concentration in the system, there was a decrease of the EO50PO50 and phosphate concentrations necessary to form a primary ATPS. After the primary two-phase separation, the top phase (rich in the EO50PO50 polymer) was partitioned from the bottom phase (rich in phosphates). Next, by means of polymer phase thermoseparation, a secondary two-phase system was formed. In the secondary EO50PO50/phosphate ATPS, the bottom phase was formed by the concentrated EO50PO50 polymer (30-80% concentration), while the top phase by a solution composed mainly of water, containing phosphate ions and remains of EO50PO50 polymer (3-7%).
The beliefs that people hold about themselves, their life and future are important and mutually related constituents of psychological functioning and well-being. In this paper, we investigated the relationship between positive orientation and generalized self-efficacy. The sample consisted of 672 participants aged 15-72 years (274 males). The results confirmed the first hypothesis that positive orientation and generalized self-efficacy constitute two distinct but correlated constructs. The results were confirmed across the three age groups and, contrary to the second hypothesis, age was not confirmed as a moderator of the relationship between positive orientation and self-efficacy.
