In my thesis, the topic of which is Communication in State and Public Administration, I would like to pay attention to problems that arise to civil servants in everyday verbal contact in the offices of civil service as well as to other people. Many misunderstandings or conflicts can be reached here. Communication is a means of mutual influence of persons. It is thus a real proprietor of the social process. It enables social interaction which makes a social being from human being. Pressumption of communication is a certain commonly recognized set of meanings within particular group or society. Communication in society has a lot of various forms and aspects. On the basis of analyzing particular communication processes, a theory of social communication has been gradually created as a common base of those scientific disciplines that deal with examining the interaction of information in society. All of us are involved in the process of communication in society. A human being must communicate. Their personal development, involvement in the process of work, emotional and esthetical sphere inevitably require contacts as well as information exchange with other people. To explain the status of civil servants in the mentioned context it is therefore necessary to introduce a legal framework of their position.

The Image of the Speaker in the Reviews by Henryk Sienkiewicz The aim of the article is to investigate the ways in which the speaker in the reviews by Henryk Sienkiewicz presents himself to the reader and to describe the roles he performs. The present analysis indicates that there is a correspondence between the image of the speaker and the type of the review. On the one hand, in case of reviews with a complex structure and a diverse illocutionary potential, i.e. academic reviews, polemical reviews which discuss and assess various aspects of the literary work, the speaker frequently assumes the roles of an expert, a connoisseur or a teacher, which often permeate and complement one another. On the other hand, reviews in the form of an overview or a summary usually feature a speaker-informer. Regardless of the genre, the speaker manifests his presence in the first-person plural forms and pronouns (my, nasz; Eng. we, our) and uses surprisingly few singular forms. What may explain the employment of the “my” (“we”) form as the plural of modesty is an attempt to make the text of the review seem more objective, while the inclusive “my” (“we”) serves persuasive purposes.

Communication is an indispensable element of efficient functioning of every enterprise. The goal of effective communication is to ensure that every person within the company receives reliable and complete information at the right time. Unfortunately, it often happens that the communication process is underrated in some enterprises. That is a big mistake since it is communication that facilitates an effective transfer of goals as well as motivation. The lack of communication is one of the most serious obstacles on the way to effective business management. Caring for proper communication within the company is the simplest method for achieving success. The purpose of the article is to present the role of communication within an enterprise. The article ends with conclusions supported by research results concerning the importance of internal communication.

The political transformation that took place in our country chanced the scope and forms of social life. Economic and socio-cultural changes led to the disappearance of disabled people. As a result, it is necessary to rebuild a humanistic programme based on embracing the human being, their abilities and capabilities. One of the most important methods of working on the condition and prospects of (disabled) people is undoubtedly communication, and dialogue within its scope.

Technikę sieciową można w przedsiębiorstwie wykorzystać różnorodnie. Jedni nawiązują w ten sposób kontakt z klientami, przedstawiają swoje oferty, inni na nowych zasadach organizują współprace z partnerami i dostawcami. Istotne jest, aby narzędzia komunikacji firmy z klientem były wykorzystywane odpowiednio. Badaniami objęto strony WWW firm działających w Polsce. Ocenie poddano skuteczność komunikacji oraz wykorzystanie możliwości internetu w relacjach firma-klient. Internet to niezwykle ważny i istotny kanał komunikacji marketingowej dzisiejszego przedsiębiorstwa, a WWW i e-mail to podstawowe narzędzia wykorzystywane do komunikowania przez internet. Coraz większego znaczenia nabiera indywidualna komunikacja z klientem, zaś większość firm dba jedynie o komunikację z klientem masowym, co nie jest trafne w przypadku indywidualnej techniki komunikacji, jaka jest internet.

The net technology may be used in a variety of ways in companies. Some use it to make contact with their customers to present their offers, others to establish new principles of co-operation with their partners and suppliers. It is thus essential that such tools are used in a suitable way. The research included www pages of companies operating in Poland. Two things were estimated in due course of the research the efficiency of communication and the possibility of using Internet in relations between companies and their customers. Internet is a highly important channel of marketing communication in today's companies, and www pages as well as e-mail are key tools used in communicating through Internet. Additionally, individual communication with a customer is becoming more and more significant, whereas the majority of companies are only interested in communicating with the mass customer, which is not exactly accurate in case of the means of individual communication, namely Internet.

The fundamental element of safety and of the presence of a sense of security is their being communicated to the public, which precedes development based on common perceptions and interpretations of the surrounding reality. With the development of societies, the progress of digitalisation in the field of communication, and the smooth transmission of information and data, the individualisation and specialisation of communications leading to completely new forms of activity, and social media and messages which are not addressed to the public, have become increasingly important. This refers to all events and phenomena in the public sphere, and its impact on civic life, the manner of its assessment, and the narrative which arises, and which is considered to be true by certain social groups or societies, as they can identify themselves with it, and, finally, treat it as their own – post truth.

The article presents an overview of research on style-forming factors in Czechoslovak linguistics. The conception of style-forming factors was unique at the time of its introduction, but it has not been developed much since then. The article identifies the following problems with this conception: (1) The processual domain of style is not examined; (2) Factors are derived from the resultative domain; (3) It is not clear what particular factors influence and to what extent; (4) Some factors are complex and they could be broken down into partial factors; (5) There is no limit to what can potentially be a style-forming factor. The article offers a possible solution to these problems: experimental research on style-forming factors.

Volunteering (from Latin voluntarius) refers to conscious, willing ac- ceptance of a job that one is not paid for. Volunteers do not get money for their work, but it does not mean they work for free. Their gratification is feeling good, needed, serving their altruistic needs, boosting their self-esteem. If one expects or demands thanks for the work done, at the same time behav- ing in a pitying or patronizing way, it contradicts the idea of volunteering. Conscious volunteering thus implies substantial self-awareness, acknowledging one’s positive sides as well as limitations. Communication skills and com- petence are also indispensable; in this article, they are presented from the perspective o Eric erne’s transactional analysis and Schulz von Thun’s conception of communication.

Introduction. The article introduces the reader into the problem area, based on interpersonal relationships between physiotherapists and patients. Aim. The aim of the study is to learn the factors determining the quality of physiotherapeutic services. The research was carried out in relation to verbal and non-verbal aspects of contact between physiotherapists and patients. Material and method. The method used in the study was a quantitative survey based on a questionnaire. Results. Ninety-six percent of respondents state that they have no problems with making interpersonal contact with patients. Fifty-three percent of them show interest in patients during the dialogue and the remaining group only initiates the contact and limits it to personal creativity. The research shows that the gender of the respondents does not significantly affect the ways of showing interest in patients. However, the length of service differentiates their approach to patients as well as the age of the patients themselves. Discussion. Communication in a profession of physiotherapist refers to the personal preferences and interpersonal skills of the respondents, which can be determined by a specific style of their work. In addition, significantly it is determined by the level of education of future physical therapists, which was mentioned not only by the people in this study, but also in the studies cited in the literature included in the discussion. Conclusions. The quality of physiotherapy services is determined not only by instrumental preparation of a physiotherapist but also by expression that results from the interpersonal contact. Physiotherapists are aware of building relationships during the first contact. Therefore, they try to make a positive impression. In such way, the quality of treatment can be increased.

This article will provide an overview of whether students have positive motivational attitudes towards the use of computers for writing and communication. Firstly, it summarizes the basic theories of motivation and then explains the relationship between language and motivation, and the use of computers and motivation. Then, it aims to explore the aspects of computer use that students find motivating and investigates the differences among these aspects for students having different backgrounds in terms of computer skills. 45 first grade ELT students of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University participated in the study. The data was collected through a questionnaire adapted from Warschauer (1996). The obtained data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-tests, Manova and Anova on SPSS. The findings indicated that participants mainly made use of computers for communication, learning, achievement and empowerment. Plus, their personal aspects, except for computer knowledge, related to computers, did not significantly affect the participants’ motivational attitudes towards the use of computers. There were not even significant differences between male and female participants in terms of being motivated to use computers and computer facilities for communication and writing. Finally, having or not having a computer at home was not a decisive factor influencing motivational attitudes of participants.

The study is devoted to a discussion on selected issues relating to the EU and national legislation which determine the process of the mainstream communication with third-country nationals in the Police Detention Centres. The study is a part of the ongoing research project of the Department of Foreign Languages of the Academy of the Police Force in Bratislava and the Bureau of the Border and Foreign Police of the Presidium of the Police Force, Slovakia titled Intercultural Communication with third-country nationals in the Police Detention Centres. The research attempts to find the answer to the following question: What means of intercultural communication (verbal and non-verbal) do police officers use with third-country nationals for mutual understanding, avoiding conflicts and correct adherence to human rights? Following the findings of the intermediate legislative and applied research, the author points out the main reasons which lead to certain difficulties in performing understandable communication in the Police Detention Centres such as loopholes in the EU legislation, non-conformity of the EU and national legislation in using the state (national) vs foreign language in official service communication with third-country nationals whose stay is unauthorised in the territory of the Slovak Republic, and in the EU and the Schengen Area, and their residence or entry into the Schengen Area is detected as irregular and subsequently clarified, with respective accountability.

In this paper the authors will discuss the nature of jargonaphasia. Any dictionary definition of the word “jargon” will indicate that once again the medical science of aphasia usurped what was originally a lay term. Some researchers have gone as far as modifying a neologism in adults with that sort of jargon by called recognizable ones “target related” and “non-target related. Even studies of the so-called “semantic pa ra pha sias,” go way beyond what is need to describe any of the three jargons – much less to describe “semantic jargon.” Finally, as we shall see, it is often the case that jargon samples have been elicited from naming tasks, mostly object naming. Nevertheless, it is typical to engage the jargon subjects in tasks that require spontaneous stretches of speech discourse. The complex nature of Jargonaphasia which involve a heterogeneity that will ultimately drive many subcategories of it is discussed. The authors described the 3 jargons of jargonaphasia.

The aim of the study was to investigate the communication process between the tourist office and the client. The paper characterizes the basic definitions and selected models of the theory of the communication process. The survey was conducted in the period from February to April 2020, on a group of 76 clients of the selected tourist office. The respondents were selected at random. A study with the use of an interview questionnaire was also conducted. Its purpose was to answer questions about efficient communication between tourist office employees and their clients. The conversation was direct and individual. The satisfaction with the quality of the communication process between the tourist office employee and the client was determined, as well as the prospects for further cooperation. A smoothly running communication process between tourist office employees and the clients is very important. Every effort should be made to minimize the impact of potential barriers, so that both parties can achieve the intended benefits and will be satisfied with such cooperation. Based on the research, the clients were divided into individual groups. Each group consisted of people who share common personal characteristics and a specific approach to service. In the interview, the topic of a “difficult client” was also raised.
