EN
The main body of the text presents the sixth chapter of the dissertation on metaphysics and deconstruction in Richard Rorty's philosophy. The author claims that Rorty has not entirely abandoned metaphysics, and moreover, in his opinion, a compete rejection of metaphysics is not possible for a philosopher like Rorty. The applied deconstructionism, that the autor ascribed to Rorty, is attached to the notion of contingency, and contingency is a metaphysical concept. Rorty can thus do no more than attempt to overcome metaphysics, but in site of serious and competent efforts, he cannot reach this purpose because metaphysics has several pragmatic functions and Rorty, as a pragmatist, cannot dispose of them. Using the metaphor of a ladder in his interpretation, the author goes on to say that the attempt to eliminate metaphysics is not good for culture and unnecessarily tends to undermine it. On the other hand, however, one can sympathize with Rorty when his elimination of metaphysics is conceived as a stepping stone to the creation of a new human being dedicated to the development of a new post-metaphysical culture.
