The paper presents the analysis of the practical training methods, which are used during professional training of specialists in ecology in the system of postgraduate education. The method of projects and training, as the best methods of professional development, are described. The importance of application of binary teaching methods is analyzed; their integral effect on professional development in the system of postgraduate education is shown.

The paper is devoted to understanding the influence of economic competitiveness and environmental sustainability on education. It was concluded that national economic competitiveness is linked to intellectual and capital and is driven by knowledge, and innovation. Sustainable development requires an understanding of the complexity of the global ecosystem and of creative problem-solving to find solutions to ‘wicked problems’ such as that of reconciling economic activity with a sustainable environment. It was highlighted the following overarching needs to: give a higher profile to the notion of interdependence: how closely one part of an ecosystem is linked to and depends upon another; making humanity more aware of its own fragility on this planet; highlight the role of cooperation: problems faced will only be resolved by international cooperation; develop the notion of a global public good: environmental sustainability can only be achieved by trans ceding particular national or individual needs.

The importance of professional health is actualized. The structural-logical scheme of the genesis of the conceptual-categorical apparatus of the study was constructed and its axiological and structural-functional analysis of “professional burnout” was carried out. Specifies the author’s interpretation of the definition of “professional burnout”; the structural and logical scheme of the process of professional burnout is developed.

The analysis concepts and categorical apparatus of recreation in Ukraine on legal, reference, scientific and methodical literature sources are made. It is determined the features of structural organization of recreation sphere, the state and prospects of its development. The structural and organizational scheme of conceptual-categorical apparatus of recreation has been developed. There were clarified existing approaches and classification features based on the developed classifications and suggested author’s approaches, features and species.
