Information Control Aspects in Collaborative eLearning Networks

Although the term eLearning may refer to broader technology for supporting learning and teaching, the web based form is the one that probably prevails nowadays. The web based learning will then be the main topic of this chapter for investigating properties of a collaborative network architecture as it has been personally experienced as a teacher in higher school for transferring knowledge and skills in the internet and computer science field and in argumentation for law students through a blended learning process. More precisely our experience takes advantage of the Web 2.0 facilities and might be qualified as an eLearning 2.0 process. This environment enables collaborative learning and offers the opportunity to more creativity in building curricula and content by using rapid e-learning tools and social networks content. Learners are associated to assignment assessment and invited to contribute to public discussion boards and mailing lists. Following Bakhtin's social theories for social interaction in collaborative construction of meaning, we believe that fostering learners to engage in active online collaboration and social interaction, exchanging ideas, information and arguments about subjects of interest enables efficient learning, develops self-confidence and actually proves to be a more engaging way for learners.
