Abstrakty

Działalność dydaktyczna, obok naukowo-badawczej, kulturotwórczej i wychowawczej, należy do najważniejszych obszarów działalności każdej wyższej uczelni akademickiej. Monitorowanie, czyli ciągła, systematyczna i kompleksowa obserwacja realizacji procesu dydaktycznego, powinno zapewnić osiągnięcie podstawowych celów tego procesu, do których należy zaliczyć: opanowanie przez studiujących ustalonego dla danego kierunku i specjalności zakresu wiedzy, zgodnej z aktualnym poziomem rozwoju nauki, przyswojenie odpowiednich umiejętności (technik i narzędzi) przydatnych w praktyce zawodowej, stworzenie możliwości do dalszego rozwoju intelektualnego studiujących. Strukturę podmiotową monitoringu realizacji zajęć dydaktycznych tworzą władze dziekańskie, kierownicy Katedr oraz studenci. (fragment tekstu)

The paper has two goals. First, it aims to present the monitoring methods of the teaching process in the University of Economics which are currently applied. Second, the authors propose several new ways of monitoring the teaching process to make it more efficient and reliable. At present deans, heads of the departments and students are responsible for monitoring the course contents and teaching methods as well as the formal aspects of these processes. The authors emphasize especially the current necessity to take into account changes regarding transformation and European integration, The other aspect, which is of a special interest in the authors' opinion, is students' progress evaluation. They suggest it should be very broad and take account of the content of the unit, specificity of the course, number of students who choose the unit and examiners' preferences. At present at the University of Economics there is no one model of how to examine. The authors propose that a single model should be adopted. The formal aspects of the didactic process are precisely analysed in the paper. The authors propose a new method of monitoring which includes students' questionnaires. As a supplement to the paper the proposed questionnaire is attached. In conclusion the authors stress that the University of Economics has applied only internal methods of monitoring. When a faculty wishes to get quality assurance accreditation it will have to subject itself to the external body of monitoring. (original abstract)
