W opracowaniu zaprezentowano próbę wprowadzenia procesu planowania kapitału ludzkiego w działalność ośrodka medycznego. Przeprowadzono analizę czynników zewnętrznych i wewnętrznych oraz aktualnego stanu zarządzania personelem w ośrodkach medycznych.

The introduction of Polish health care system reforms in 1999 fundamentally changed the environment in which medical centres operate. A direct result of these changes was a growing interest among management staff and management scholars in these business entities. First, the article focuses on finance and marketing and on the strategic management of medical centres. To date, very little attention has been paid to the issue of human resources management, which is one of key sources of achieving competitive advantage. In view of the foregoing, the goal of the article is to attempt to implement a human resources planning process at a medical centre. HR planning is perceived broadly - as a process of defining activities for each personnel management function through the perspective of change in an organisation's external and internal environment. This goal was achieved through the implementation of successive stages. First, the external environment of the medical centre was analysed, including emerging economic, political, social and technological trends. Next, external environment factors were identified. Finally, suggested measures to be taken by the medical centre with regard to HR management were presented. The solutions proposed by the author are based on an analysis of the medical centre's external and internal environment, on the assumption that the centre should not only continue, also but develop, its market activities.
