Autor podejmuje próbę rozróżnienia pomiędzy podstawowymi zadaniami jakie stawia procesowi restrukturyzacji literatura przedmiotu, a własnymi doświadczeniami i badaniami na temat zależności restrukturyzacji przedsiębiorstwa i budowaniem jego konkurencyjności.

Analysis and assessment of restructuring processes shows that those enterprises which want to compete effectively on the market must choose and appropriate strategy of change, an then apply it consistently. Achieving the goals of restructuring depends to a significant degree on observing, during the organisation, course and supervision of this process, the specific requirements and rules of conduct inherent both in the structures of Poland's domestic enterprises shaped in the past and in the actual conditions of today's economy. In this article the author has attempted to distinguish between, on the one hand the requirements and guiding principles (rules) involved in restructuring referred to in the literature on the subject, and, on the other, the experiences of enterprises and the author's own research.
