ARISTOTLE`S PHILOSOPHY AND HEGEL`S SYSTEM. A COMPARISON OF SELECTED PROBLEMS
Języki publikacji
Abstrakty
The aim of the article is to compare the most important features of Aristotle’s philosophy and Hegel’s philosophical system. Hegel himself pays tribute to Aristotle and has great respect for him. Nevertheless, this does not mean that he accepts all of his opinions, for in many aspects he adopts an opposite approach to the most important philosophical issues. In this article presents a comparison between Aristotle’s and Hegel’s philosophical with reference to the following problems: ethical, social and political issues, which are fundamental for practical philosophy; the relation between the whole and its parts, which both philosophers believed should be understood not discretely (abstractly) but concretely; the understanding of the human soul and its functions: perception and thinking, which were construed by Aristotle and Hegel in notably different ways. In spite of these differences Hegel makes an effort to achieve an agreement between the two philosophical systems through his peculiar way of understanding philosophical speculation as the synthesis of empirical particulars.
