Abstrakty

EN

The pilgrimages were an integrate part of human history at all stages of its cultural and civilizing development, although their external form was changing due to the historical, social and political conditions. At present the pilgrimage is one of the most important religious, cultural, social and economic phenomenon . This study is based on a diploma work called 'The Pilgrimages in Slovakia in 20th Century' that was vindicated at Faculty of Art Commenius University in Bratislava in 2006. The diploma work was dedicated to the changes of the pilgrimages in Slovakia in 20th century (pilgrimages until 2nd World War, restriction of the pilgrimages from the 1940s till 1989 and their revival since 1989) and to their spiritual, economic and social meaning too.
