The role of leadership in post merger integration
Despite 100-year history of mergers and acquisitions, these transactions end as failures in 60-80% of the cases. Literature on this subject suggests that post merger integration and especially leadership as a part of it - is the key success factor. The analyses of practices conducted by successful companies lead to the conclusion that the key issue is to create (strategic level) and efficiently communicate the vision of top-management to the lower organisational levels (operational level) using modern management and communication methods. The main challenge is to apply these practices to other companies worldwide including Polish market.
