The article provides facts concerning the development of the market of promissory notes of enterprises in Poland. While assessing the development of the market of promissory notes in Poland, it is necessary to state that this market has already achieved a certain stage but it is not yet the equal of international markets in terms of the scope and organizational solutions. The most important factor that adversely affects its efficiency is undoubtedly lack of a public offer aimed at a wide range of investors and the fact that the market of promissory notes in Poland is still not able to become an independent source of financing of investments.
