The purpose of the thesis is to present to Polish reader rudiments of property marriage law in Austria. The aim of this publication is to serve as a guide for Polish judges, who will apply Austrian law. The thesis consists of two chapters. First of them is devoted to matrimonial property regime provided by the law. Particular atrention is paid to the legal qualification of spouse's properties for the duration of matrimonial property regime and situations, in which after cessation of property system there is the division of savings and utilitarian property being made. The second part is a description of the rules referring to concluding matrimonial property contracts, their forms and contents permitted under the law. Consideration is finished by the summary indicating the role, which property marriage law institutions play in present Austrian law.
