Purpose: Presentation of the results of clinical study on new supplementary method applied in the physical rehabilitation of patients who underwent total hip arthroplasty. The standard rehabilitation program was supplemented with the lower limb loading symmetry training based on the follow-up posturography with an adaptively modified visual biofeedback, performed on a double plate posturographic platform. Methods: The research involved 60 randomly selected patients included in prospective and comparative clinical study in the scheme of the parallel groups. The subjects were divided into two groups comprised of 30 patients each. In both groups a conventional 21-day rehabilitation was carried out. Additionally, in experimental group the limb loading symmetry restoration training based on the follow-up posturography with an adaptively modified biofeedback was implemented. The biofeedback coefficient reflected the distribution of loading exerted on a given patient’s legs and was evaluated during the static posturography examinations carried out before each symmetry training session. Results: The eyes-open static posturography examinations indicated significant improvement in the lower limb loading symmetry in 29 (97%) patients from the experimental group ( p = 0.000003). In the control group, such an improvement was observed in 20 (67%) patients ( p = 0.034796). In the eyes closed examinations correction in the limb loading symmetry was evident in 23 (77%) patients from the experimental group ( p = 0.000247) and 18 (60%) patients from the control group ( p = 0.043327). Conclusions: Significant improvement in the lower limb loading symmetry was observed in patients who underwent rehabilitation supplemented with the herein discussed training method.

The article presents a number of posturographic methods enabling objective postural symmetry assessment in patients undergoing rehabilitation after total hip replacement surgery. The key goal of such rehabilitation is fast restoration of a proper body weight distribution. The postural symmetry measures proposed in the article enable generalized quantification of the CoP (Center of Pressure) trajectories measured during standard static posturography diagnostics and the so-called follow-up posturography examination. The follow-up posturography is a relatively new but promising method of physical rehabilitation. All of the herein discussed posturographic measures have been designed specifically to quantify postural symmetry either in a standing and relaxed upright position, in the absence of any deterministic external stimulation (static posturography) or in the presence of a visual biofeedback stimulation enforcing the coordinated slow swaying movements of the body (the follow-up posturography). The experimental results presented in this paper constitute the outcome of the long-term cooperation between the Institute of Electronics of the Silesian University of Technology and the Silesian Rheumatology and Rehabilitation Hospital. The usefulness of the proposed postural symmetry measures has been verified in a series of clinical trials carried out in a selected group of patients undergoing rehabilitation after total hip replacement surgery.

W artykule zaprezentowano oryginalny sposób oceny symetrii postawy oparty na analizie kształtu trajektorii stabilograficznej uzyskiwanej w trakcie testu stabilografii nadążnej. Opracowany w ramach współpracy Politechniki Śląskiej ze Śląskim Szpitalem ReumatologicznoRehabilitacyjnym test stabilografii nadążnej wykorzystywany jest w rehabilitacji osób po endoprotezoplastyce stawu biodrowego i bezpośrednio związany jest z procesem kształtowania prawidłowego stereotypu postawy. Zaproponowana metoda oceny symetrii postawy oparta jest na kwantyfikacji stopnia symetrii bilateralnej oraz obrotowej trajektorii rejestrowanej w trakcie testu stabilografii nadążnej.

The article presents a novel method of postural symmetry quantification based on shape analysis of COP (Center Of Pressure) trajectories measured during the follow-up posturography test session. The test itself is a result of mutual cooperation between Silesian University of Technology and Silesian Rheumatology and Rehabilitation Hospital. It’s main purpose is to support the process of restoration of optimal bilateral body weight distribution during the rehabilitation of patients that underwent alloplastic hip surgery. The symmetry quantification approach proposed in this paper utilizes bilateral and rotational symmetry measures calculated for the COP trajectories registered during the follow-up posturography test sessions conducted on a daily basis as part of the rehabilitation program.

Roztwory stałe GdxBi1-xFeO3 (x = 0,0; 0,05; 0,1; 0,15) przygotowano według standardowej technologii ceramicznej. Pomiarów pętli histerezy magnetycznej GdxBi1-xFeO3 dokonano w zakresie temperatur od 5 do 300 K w polu magnetycznym o indukcji do 8 T. Wymiana jonów bizmutu przez jony gadolinu prowadzi do pojawienia się stanu słabego ferromagnetyzmu. Właściwości dielektryczne układu GdxBi1-xFeO3 zbadano w zakresie częstotliwości od 400 do 2500 cm-1.

GdxBi1-xFeO3 (x = 0.0; 0.05; 0.1; 0.15) solid solutions have been prepared by a conventional ceramic processing technique. The magnetic loops of GdxBi1-xFeO3 were measured over the temperature range from 5 K to 300 K in magnetic field up to 8 T. Substitution of the gadolinium ions for the bismuth ions leads to the appearing of a weak ferromagnetic state. Dielectric properties of the GdxBi1-xFeO3 system over a frequency range of 400–2500 cm-1 have been systematically investigated.

This paper presents a theoretical approach to Li+ ions diffusion in polymeric solid electrolytes. The following parameters were calculated and then compared with the experimental results: the mobility of lithium ions, diffusion coefficient and recombination probability. Ionic conductivity of the electrolyte was also calculated.

The paper presents the results of the research on a new polymer-gel electrolyte for electrochromic devices. In the performed studies, various electrolytes were used. They all contained an ionic conductor, a matrix of polymer gel and organic solvent or mixture of polar organic solvents. The electrolyte which had the best properties contained 8% LiCF₃SO₃ as an ionic conductor, a matrix consisting of two polymers: 10% PMMA, 6% PEO, and a mixture of the following two polar organic solvents: 38% propylene carbonate and 38% ethylene carbonate. The high conductivity (σ = 4.8 mS/cm), which provides easy deposition in layers, gives stability (resistance) in time and high transmittance value of radiation in the visible region makes the electrolyte very useful for electrochromic devices. A seven-layer electrochromic device with this new gel electrolyte was assembled according to the following formula: glass ₁ /ITO/WO₃/electrolyte/BP/ITO/glass ₂, where ITO was an indium-tin film oxide, WO₃ was an electrochemically deposited tungsten oxide film and BP an electrochemically deposited film of prussian blue. The density of the current flowing through the unit and the transmittance at the wavelength ʎ = 550 nm are given in the paper as a function of sinusoidal voltage. The transmittance varies from 70–50% (coloured) to 25–10% (for fully bleached) in the range of visible radiation and the colouration efficiency is high (above 100 cm²/C). These results are considerably better than those reported in the other similar studies.

W publikacji przedstawiono przegląd artykułów opisujących wyniki badań przeprowadzonych w ostatnich latach nad otrzymywaniem elektrolitu stałego (żelowego) do urządzeń elektro-chromowych. Podstawowy warunek stawiany takim elektrolitom to wysokie przewodnictwo właściwe (minimum lO^S-cm"'. a także odpowiednia trwałość w czasie, wysoka transmitancja w zakresie promieniowania widzialnego (VIS) oraz odpowiednia przyczepność do podłoża. Elektrolit żelowy spełniający te wymagania powinien zawierać: - przewodnik jonowy, którym powinna być sól litu np.: LiCF3SO3- trifluorosulfonian litu, LiCIO4 - chloran(YII) litu lub LiN(CF,SO2)2 - trifluorosulfonimidek litu. - matrycę polimerową np.: polimetakrylan metylu (PMMA), polichlorek winylu) (PCV), po-li(tlenek etylenu) (PEO) lub poliakrylonitryl (PAN) w odpowiedniej postaci. - odpowiedni rozpuszczalnik lub ich mieszaninę z następujących: węglan propylenu (PC), węglan etylenu (EC), y-butyrolakton (y-BL), odpowiedniej czystości. - rozpuszczalnik do wstępnego przygotowania żelu matrycy, np. acetonitryl (AcCN) lub tetrahydro-furan (THF). Wykonane badania własne pozwoliły otrzymać elektrolit żelowy o składzie: 15% PEO, 40% PC, 40% EC, 5% LiCIO4, którego przewodnictwo wynosiło 8,4 mS cm"1 w temperaturze pokojowej po 3 dobach żelowania. Elektrolit charakteryzował się trwałością w czasie, i wysoką transmitancja promieniowania w zakresie widzialnym, co daje możliwość jego zastosowania w urządzeniach elektrochromowych.

The paper is a review of investigations solid polymeric electrolites and the results of the research a new gel electrolyte for electrochromic devices. Polimer gel electrolytes (polimer-salt-solvent system) for use in electrochromic devices application contained: - Lithium salt : LSC1O4 - lithium chlorate(VII) , LiNfCF^SOi^ - lithium trifluorosulfonimide 01 LiCFiSO, - lithium trifiate, - Based polimer: polytethylene oxide) - PEO, polifvinyl chloride) - PVC, poliacrylonitryle - PAN, polimethylmetacrylate -PMMA, - Solvent (or mixed solvent): propylene carbonate (PC), ethylene carbonate (EC), - y-butyrolacton (y-BL), tetrahydrofuran (THF). Poly(ethylene oxide) PEO - based polymer electrolytes, containing lithium chlorate(VII) (LiCIO.^) and using mixed solvent propylene carbonate (PC) + ethylene carbonate (EC) are presented the gel electrolyte prepared. The hight conductivity attained by the gels (8,4 mS-cm"1) at room temperature and thermally stable, make them very promising for electrochromic devices.

Przedstawiono sieć monitoringu wokół HM Legnica oraz stan zanieczyszczenia powietrza pyłem zawieszonym, tlenkiem węgla, siarkowodorem i dwutlenkiem siarki na podstawie wyników automatycznych pomiarów imisji systemu BASKI. Dokonano również porównania wyników automatycznych pomiarów imisji (system BASKI) z metodą manualną. Stwierdzono, że działania proekologiczne realizowane w HM Legnica zmniejszyły jej uciążliwość do wartości stężeń dopuszczalnych.

It was presented monitoring circuit around the Copper Works Legnica and level of the air pollution by suspended dust, hydrogensulphide (H2S), carbon oxide (CO) and sulphur dioxide (SO2), based on results generated by automatic immision measurements system BASKI. It was also compared mentioned above results to results obtained manually. It was found that pro-ecological activity reduced the contamination generated by Copper Works Legnica to permissible concentraions.

Przedyskutowno tzw. mieszany efekt alkaliczny oraz zależność pomiędzy przewodnictwem i dyfuzją. Przedstawiono też przewodnictwo elektronowe szkieł tlenkowych i jego mechanizmy.

In this paper ionic and superionic conduction and mechanism of ionic transport for single- and mixed- alkali silicate glasses are described. The 'mixed- alkali' effect and relationship beetwen conductivity and diffusion were discussed. Electronic conduction of oxide glasses and its mechanisms are presented too.
