The objective of this paper is to present a background for a concept of situation-dependent adjustment of environmental regulations for the prevention of ship-generated sewage pollution. Unlike the standard rules based only on a constant distance from the nearest land that routinely disregard the effect of drift caused by local surface currents, tidal streams, or winds, we consider taking into account the situational dependence in addition. This includes the available hydrometeorological data on the seawater flow, the initial position and time of disposal, and ultimately, sea state, the physical and biochemical properties of the substances (sewage, wastewater) discharged overboard. Computing the approximate dynamics of drifted sewage yields estimated information on the prohibited (permitted) zones of discharge and the boundary subareas of the predicted distribution or the maximum (minimum) concentrations of contaminants, respectively. This can be further applied to the innovative decision support systems aimed at preventing local pollution, involving stakeholders on both sides: ship masters and shore services on marine environment protection, as well as to developing local legislation. In order to justify the proposed approach and to emphasize the relevance of situational dependence concerning the natural motions of sea water bodies, our study is illustrated with some examples based on real-world data including various drift effects.
In this note, we briefly discuss and compare the simplified models of the water current and wind effects on ship’s resultant track in marine navigation, which are represented by drift and leeway. Our focus is on a compensation of the lateral component of perturbation with respect to the ship heading line, which is included in the equations of resultant motion. The variable magnitude of the compensation affects ship navigation, in particular, total drift angle, speed and course over ground. The corresponding unit time fronts, speed changes and drift angle in relation to the various ranges of the cross compensation and own ship true course are also compared by some illustrative examples.
W ramach projektu pt. „Podniesienie poziomu innowacyjności gospodarki poprzez realizację przedsięwzięć badawczych w trybie innowacyjnych zamówień publicznych w celu wsparcia realizacji strategii Europejskiego Zielonego Ładu” Narodowe Centrum Badań i Rozwoju realizuje m.in. przedsięwzięcie „Budownictwo efektywne energetycznie i procesowo”.

As part of the project entitled “Raising the level of innovativeness of the economy through the implementation of research projects in the mode of innovative public procurement to support the implementation of the European Green Deal strategy” the National Center for Research and Development implements, among others, the project “Energy and process-efficient construction”. The aim of this project is to develop innovative technologies for prefabricated (2D) or modular (3D) construction, which will allow buildings to be erected faster, reduce construction and operation costs, achieve the best possible energy balance, save water in a closed circuit in the building, and reduce CO2 emissions in production processes, reduce the formation of construction waste. The article presents the results of the first of the three stages of the project, which ended with the creation of prototypes of small facilities in prefabricated and modular technologies.

„Ernst Friedrich Ferdinand Zermelo (1871-1953) jest znany głównie z wyników w teorii mnogości i logice. […] […] Zermelo kontynuował i rozwijał wariacyjne wyniki Karla Weierstrassa, w szczególności rozszerzył metodę badania ekstremów całek krzywoliniowych do przypadku, w którym funkcja podcałkowa zależy od pochodnych dowolnego rzędu.
