In this paper, the problem of backward compatibility of active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) is investigated. The goal is to contextualize ADRC to deliver its interpretations from the established field of linear control systems. For this study, a control algorithm, denoted here as integral disturbance rejection control (IDRC), is considered that combines classical state-feedback control with an integral compensator. At first, an interpretation of ADRC is involved in terms of existing state-space control approaches. Next, a transition to the frequency domain is performed, which is justified as a significant part of practical control engineering is conducted in that domain. For assumed specific plant structures, both ADRC and IDRC are then holistically compared in terms of transfer function representation and frequency characteristics, as well as steady-state convergence conditions. Such a juxtaposition helps to highlight the similarities and differences of both approaches, whereas the utilized bandwidth parameterization is shown to bring the control system to the same form, thus indicating some interesting practical aspects. Finally, the theoretical results concerning both considered control structures are validated in a set of numerical simulations and experiments conducted on a laboratory hardware testbed.
In this paper, our objective consists to optimize the energy produced by the wind turbines system (WTSs) equipped on Wonder rotor synchronous generator (WRSG) this machine practical in variables speed system. In the first place, we considered using vector control based on PI type regulator; this control resists less to parametric variations and external disturbances of the machine. To remediate this problem we passed to study and designed two driving systems the first is to give pulses to the PWM-Rectifier connected to the generator side by applied backstepping controller based in Lyapunov laws. And the second system is to give pulses to the PWM-Inverter connected to the grid side by applied a novel robust control approach know as on the Active Disturbance Rejection Controller (ADRC) founded on the supervisor of disturbance by using Extended State Observer(ESO). The simulation outcomes demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, particularly in terms of the power quality delivered.

Aby zaradzić temu problemowi, przeszliśmy do badań i zaprojektowaliśmy dwa układy napędowe.
W artykule przedstawiono zmodyfikowany algorytm odpornej regulacji z aktywną kompensacją zaburzeń ADRC z wykorzystaniem filtru Kalmana KF do estymacji rozszerzonego wektora stanu.

The article presents a modified Active Disturbance Rejection Control (ADRC) algorithm that uses the Kalman Filter (KF) for the estimation of extended state vector. The Kalman filter replaced the Extended State Observer (ESO) used in its basic form. The purpose of this modification was to improve the system robustness under conditions of stochastic measurement disturbances. The method of the control system synthesis and the Kalman filter gains selection, ensuring control efficiency, as well as their impact on the system operation, were presented. The experiments were carried out on a laboratory setup - the Ball Balancing Table (BBT). Control quality was assessed based on time plots of signals and integral performance indices for various algorithm gains configurations and different noise levels. As a result of the conducted research, the advantage of using the Kalman filter over the ESO in terms of sensitivity to measurement noises was demonstrated. Implementation of the Kalman filter as the ESO determined a positive impact on control quality and the ability to reject internal disturbance also in a deterministic system.
A robust control scheme is proposed for the induction motor speed tracking problem to overcome both parametric uncertainties and unmodelled dynamics. It is based on the augmentation of the well-known field oriented control (FOC) method of the induction machine controlled in the decoupled d-q model by an extended state observer which is designed to estimate the neglected uncertain terms combined with a PD Controller to ensure the convergence of the tracking errors. Furthermore, simulation results show that the proposed methodology is very efficient for both speed and flux tracking in the presence of uncertainties.

This paper presents the robust Active Disturbance Rejection Control method in an aerodynamical object with two degrees of freedom. Full derivation of control algorithm equations and the settings values depending on the desired properties of the system, based on the dynamics of the second order oscillating object, have been shown. The equations of the control algorithm were discretized and its discrete implementation was proposed. The tests were carried out on the Inteco aerodynamical laboratory kit, whose mathematical model is strongly non-linear, has two degrees of freedom and crosscoupling. The quality of operation was assessed on the basis of time graphs as well as integral quality indices. The conducted research shows the advantage of the applied algorithm over PID control for the tested system. The presented control algorithm is also more portable - the settings are selected only on the basis of the object order and once selected are correct regardless of the mathematical model. The proposed discrete equations can be implemented using any programming language theoretically for any object, taking into account the order of its dynamics.
In order to improve the accuracy and robustness of path following control for an Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) suffering from unknown and complex disturbances, a variable speed curve path following a control method based on an extended state observer was proposed. Firstly, the effect of the environmental disturbances on the USV is equivalent to an unknown and time-varying sideslip angle, and the sideslip angle is estimated by using the extended state observer (ESO) and compensated in the Line of Sight (LOS) guidance law. Secondly, based on the traditional LOS guidance law, the design of the surge velocity guidance law is added to enable the USV to self-adjust the surge velocity according to the curvature of the curve path, thus further improving the tracking accuracy. Finally, the heading and speed controller of the USV is designed by using a sliding mode control to track the desired heading and speed accurately, and then the path following control of the USV’s curve path is realised. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

In this paper, we construct a nonlinear Extended State Observer (ESO) to estimate the dynamics of linear or nonlinear systems with parameter uncertainties and unknown external disturbances. We then apply ESO to the high-precision attitude control of a flexible satellite whose dynamics are unknown. Simulation results demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed control method.
