The research problem addressed in this work was to determine the capabilities of mixed reality systems and artificial intelligence algorithms for conducting industrial simulations. The goal of using these algorithms was to ensure the continuity of production line operation by controlling selected operating parameters, keeping the phantom in motion for as long as possible to prevent it from falling. The method used was Markov Decision Process (MDP), and the simulation environment was a system developed in the Unity engine and HoloLens 2 mixed reality glasses. Augmented scene models, controlled process models, and a virtual tool model were developed in the Tomoverse environment – a proprietary process simulation system using industrial tomography.

Zastosowano metodę Markov Decision Process (MDP), a środowisko symulacyjne stanowił system opracowany w silniku Unity i okularach rzeczywistości mieszanej HoloLens 2. Rozszerzone modele scen, modele procesów sterowanych oraz model narzędzia wirtualnego opracowano w środowisku Tomoverse – autorskim systemie symulacji procesów wykorzystującym tomografię przemysłową.
Background: Moroccan industrial companies operate in an increasingly unstable environment in which Industry 4.0 technologies-such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, and big data-represent powerful levers for strategic adaptation. The dynamic capabilities framework, based on sensing, seizing, and reconfiguring, provides a relevant lens for understanding how organizations sense signals of change, mobilize resources, and reconfigure processes to sustain competitive advantage. Methods: The study is based on a cross-sectional survey conducted among 276 Moroccan industrial companies from heavy and light industry as well as the construction sector. Data were analyzed using the PLS-SEM method with 5,000 bootstrap samples. The measurement model demonstrated strong reliability and validity (factor loadings ≈ 0.857–0.912; composite reliability ≈ 0.934–0.939; AVE ≈ 0.778–0.793; HTMT < 0.85). Results: The findings reveal robust relationships among the three dimensions of dynamic capabilities. Sensing strongly predicts seizing (β = 0.917, p < 0.001), while seizing significantly influences reconfiguration (β = 0.725, p < 0.001). Collectively, sensing (β = 0.385), seizing (β = 0.232), and reconfiguration (β = 0.362) contribute significantly to the development of overall dynamic capabilities (all p < 0.001). The model exhibits high explanatory power for seizing (R² = 0.84), moderate explanatory power for reconfiguration (R² = 0.53), and moderate explanatory power for dynamic capabilities as a whole (R² ≈ 0.33). All six hypotheses are empirically supported, highlighting the role of environmental vigilance, the mobilization of smart technologies, and organizational reconfiguration in strengthening dynamic capabilities. Conclusions: This research demonstrates that Industry 4.0 (I4.0) technologies constitute concrete foundations for the development of dynamic capabilities in an emerging economy context. It advances a systemic model that links the detection of external signals, the use of intelligent technologies, and organizational responsiveness. By doing so, the study contributes to a deeper understanding of how I4.0 is integrated into organizational practices and offers an operational framework for managers to navigate highly uncertain environments.

Artificial intelligence is revolutionising industry, significantly improving work efficiency. However, the development of AI continues to generate new ethical challenges. An international legal framework has already been developed to ensure the ethical and safe development of AI. However, it seems that new threats and ethical dilemmas continue to arise as AI develops further. This study aims to explain some of the benefits and threats of using AI in industry and to encourage reflection on the need to intensify work in this area in view of the further development of AI. Several selected ways of using AI in industry are presented, such as the implementation of cobots, algorithmic management, employee monitoring, the implementation of sustainable development ideas, and the use of generative artificial intelligence. Some of the existing legal frameworks for the safety and ethics of artificial intelligence are also described. The work is theoretical in nature and is based on a critical analysis of the literature on the subject. The reflections presented reveal a lack of consideration of the dangers associated with the responsibility involved in entrusting machines with autonomy and decision-making.

This article examines the origins of Warsaw’s industrial-port district in Żerań between 1916 and 1939, presenting it as the culmination of a long-term urban development process rather than merely the outcome of postwar industrialization. The author traces the transformation of Warsaw’s spatial structure since the partitions, emphasizing the significance of planning and transportation decisions, such as the expansion of the city limits in 1916, the development of the railway network, and canal projects. Particular attention is given to the 1923 Regulatory Plan and the 1931 General Plan, which designated the right bank of the Vistula River for heavy industry. This concept of ‘dynamic development’ envisioned the concentration of industry in the Żerań area due to favorable logistical conditions (railway, planned port, canals). The article also analyzes the impact of state policy, new regulations, city planning initiatives, and pressure from urban planning circles. The district’s development is described within the broader context of regional planning (the ‘Functional Warsaw’ concept), culminating in the 1937 decision to construct a power plant in Żerań - a project that was never realized before the outbreak of war. The author illustrates the complexity of the urbanization process, shaped by the interplay of social, economic, and ideological factors.

Gold extraction goes through different steps, from research to physical-chemical processing, which uses chemical reagents for extraction, such as cyanide. In literature, there are presented many ways to remove cyanide from this effluent on a bench scale, although on an industry scale it is not very often analysed. In this study, seeking innovation on an industrial scale for cyanide removal from real effluent generated by gold processing was analysed through oxidation with H2O2 and Fenton process. It was proven that these processes can remove cyanide at the levels required for recirculation of the effluent in the process, which is 1.0 mg/L of free cyanide, reaching 99% of removal. Applying the treatment on an industrial scale, it was possible to obtain the removal of 89% of free cyanide and 90% of total cyanide. A statistical study was carried out using a DOE tool to evaluate the dosages of H2O2 and FeCl2 at different pH values to reduce the operational costs of this decontamination process. The results indicated that it is possible to remove cyanide to reuse the effluent, with results higher than 96% of removal, using 88% less H2O2 and 70% less FeCl2, monitoring pH at 3, resulting in less waste operation for the treatment of the effluent.
Tragedia Titanica (1912) i rozwój sonarów podczas I wojny światowej przyspieszyły zastosowania fal dźwiękowych w technice. Po II wojnie światowej znaczące osiągnięcia w komercjalizacji badań UT odnieśli m.in. bracia Krautkrämer i Karl Deutsch, a metoda szybko zyskała zastosowanie przemysłowe. Współczesne systemy UT umożliwiają obrazowanie 3D, automatyzację pomiarów i wykorzystanie głowic wieloprzetwornikowych, a coraz większą rolę pełni sztuczna inteligencja.
