W artykule przedstawiono wyniki symulacji numerycznych ścinania poprzecznego płyty z tektury falistej, w której warstwa środkowa (fluting) przybiera niestandardowe, koncepcyjne kształty geometryczne. Analizie poddano sześć profili: sinusoidalny, półkolisty, trójkątny, trapezowy, prostokątny i balonikowy. Obliczenia przeprowadzono metodą elementów skończonych z uwzględnieniem anizotropii materiałowej papieru oraz nieliniowości geometrycznych i materiałowych. Do modelowania uszkodzeń zastosowano kryterium Tsai-Wu, umożliwiające śledzenie postępującej degradacji struktury aż do jej całkowitego zniszczenia.

This paper presents the results of numerical simulations of transverse shear behavior in corrugated board with a non-standard, conceptual fluting layer geometry. Six profiles were analyzed: sinusoidal, semicircular, triangular, trapezoidal, rectangular, and balloon-shaped. Calculations were carried out using the finite element method, incorporating the orthotropic nature of paper as well as geometric and material nonlinearities. To model progressive damage, the Tsai-Wu failure criterion was applied, enabling simulation of stiffness degradation and structural failure. The results revealed significant differences in how the analyzed geometries responded to shear-ranging from abrupt failure in angular profiles to smoother damage progression in rounded shapes. These simulations provide insight into how wave geometry influences shear load capacity, highlighting the potential to optimize structural packaging designs for complex stress states.
W artykule przedstawiono wyniki numerycznej analizy wytrzymałości tektury falistej poddanej obciążeniu płaskiemu (FCT – Flat Crush Test), w której środkowa warstwa falista (fluting) przybiera niestandardowe, futurystyczne kształty. Analizowane geometrie obejmują profile sinusoidalne, półkoliste, trójkątne, trapezowe, prostokątne oraz tzw. balonikowe. Wszystkie profile mają jednakową wysokość, lecz różnią się długością pojedynczego cyklu fali oraz geometrią lokalnych segmentów. Do symulacji wykorzystano metodę elementów skończonych (MES), uwzględniając trójwarstwową strukturę materiału i ortotropowe właściwości papieru.

This study presents the results of a numerical analysis of the flat crush strength (FCT) of corrugated board with a non-standard, futuristic fluting geometry. The analyzed profiles include sinusoidal, semicircular, triangular, trapezoidal, rectangular, and so-called balloon shapes. All profiles share the same height but differ in wave period and local segment geometry. The simulations were carried out using the finite element method (FEM), taking into account the three-layer structure of the material and the orthotropic properties of paper. The aim of the study is to identify the fluting shape that provides the highest resistance to flat crush loading, which directly translates into better protection of products transported in corrugated packaging. The performed simulations allow for comparison of strength parameters and evaluation of how wave geometry affects local load-bearing capacity. The results show that angular profiles reach higher peak values but degrade more rapidly, while more flexible geometries are less prone to damage under prolonged or cyclic loading.
W części I niniejszej publikacji Autor szczegółowo omawia problem i informuje o stanie obowiązujących w krajach UE regulacji prawnych, dotyczących ochrony nazewnictwa geograficznego i specyficznego, tradycyjnego sposobu wytwarzania żywności. Artykuł jest pogłębieniem publikacji z nr. 4'98 P.S. W części II, którą zaprezentujemy w następnym numerze, zostanie przedstawiona koncepcja ustanowienia przepisów krajowych, które miałyby funkcjonować w okresie przejściowym, przed przystąpieniem Polski do UE.
