Fueled by concerns of global warming and green house gases; the use of renewable, agricultural and opportunity fuels has increased rapidly. The Air-Cooled Traveling Grate Stoker, has been used in more industries and has fired a wider variety of fuels than most other firing systems.

Przedstawiono wpływ różnych parametrów charakteryzujących konstrukcję i pracę zespołu młynowego na jednostkowe użycie energii na przemiał i wentylację oraz na jakość uzyskiwanego pyłu. Analizy dotyczyły młyna RP1043x. Badania wykazały pogorszenie jakości przemiału po dodaniu do węgla biomasy, zwłaszcza gdy dodatek ten wynosi 8-10%.

Presented is the influence of various parameters characterizing construction and operation of mill unit on specific energy consumption needed for milling and ventillation as well as on quality of dust received. The analyses concern the RP1043x mill. Investigations show the dust quality deterioration after adding of biomass to the coal processed, particularly when the amount of added biomass is on the level of 8-10%.

Uwarunkowania prawno-ekonomiczne spowodowały, że zarówno europejskie jak i krajowe elektrownie węglowe stosują współspalanie węgla z biopaliwami. Najczęściej, również w warunkach krajowych, są to niewielkie domieszki do 10% biomasy drzewnej głównie zrębków drewna lub trocin. Dodatek biomasy powoduje zmianę warunków pracy zarówno układu nawęglania, układu przygotowania paliwa jak i warunków spalania w kotle. Rozwiązanie takie może jednak sprawiać pewne problemy technologiczne zarówno w obrębie układu przygotowania paliwa, jak i w procesie spalania. W pracy omówiono wpływ rodzaju dodatku biomasy (trocin, zrębek) na maksymalną wydajność młyna rolkowo-misowego, uzyskiwaną jakość przemiału oraz jednostkowe zużycie energii na przygotowanie pyłu. Omówiono wpływ zarówno uwarunkowań konstrukcyjnych jak i eksploatacyjnych na wyżej wymienione wielkości. Podano przykłady jak pogorszenie przemiału wpływa na pogorszenie rozdziału masowego paliwa do palników pyłowych, tym samym na zachowanie warunków spalania niskoemisyjnego. Przedstawiono wnioski dotyczące sposobu eksploatacji młynów związane z ograniczeniem negatywnych skutków dodatku biomasy do paliwa podstawowego.

In Poland as a result of approval of pro-ecological government papers and legislathe solutions, renewable energy utilisation growth ratio is increasing. Polish professional energy sector has at it's disposal power reserves and because of it, the most attractive solution is co - combustion of biomass with coal. A numerous of tests have been carried out in this field in Poland during last few years. A saw dust, woodchips, bark and salix combustion were tested. The paper presents the full-scale industrial co-milling tests of coal and chosen biomass samples in the coal a ring-roller mill RP 1043x rype being a part of a coal preparation system in boiler in Elektrownia Opole. The research included the most important mili performance indicators wich were as follows: real output, grinding performance and energy consumption by the grinding process. The mill chambers were visually inspecred after the tests to control the milling performance. It was evaluated that during the process of the biomass - coal co - milling, the energy consumption for grinding and mill ventilation increases. It has been proved, that the addition of biomass to the combusted fuel can negatively impact the boiler behavior and decrease the operational parameters. It was evaluated that during the process of the biomass - coal co-milling, the energy consumption for grinding increases.
