The mining industry, primarily coal mines, has grown significantly, leading to heavy traffic on haul roads. However, inadequately designed haul roads often result in problems. The objective of the present study is to review and design the haul road using existing design methods and analyze their pavement design parameters. The study compares haul road design methods, including empirical California Bearing Ratio (CBR) methods, design charts, mechanistic design approach, and geocell reinforced design. This research enhances understanding of effective haul road design methods considering layer thicknesses, vertical strain, and deflections, thereby ascertaining the overall performance and suitability of each design approach. The mechanistic and reinforced design approaches emphasize pavement safety, significantly reducing vertical compressive strain. By using IITPAVE software, an optimal haul road design was found by finding vertical strains and deflections of various designs. Vertical strains ranged from 1238 to 3700 µε, with 1.5 to 4.5 mm deflections. The outcomes indicate that both the mechanistic and reinforced approaches meet the criteria for critical strain limits (CSL). This study highlights the advantages of different design approaches to ensure cost-effectiveness.

The presence of particles and fibers as reinforcement in a polymer matrix greatly enhances the mechanical properties. Agricultural residues and natural fibers are commonly used nowadays due to the fact that they easily decompose even after a longer period and they are eco-friendly in nature. f Fiber that was extracted from stem of Calotropis gigantea was selected as reinforcement in the present investigation. Initially the fiber was treated with a sodium hydroxide solution and CG fiber-epoxy composites were prepared. The properties of alkaline treated CG fiber-reinforced epoxy composites were further improved by the addition of particles such as chitosan, red mud and rice husk. Properties such as the tensile strength, flexural strength, impact toughness, hardness, water absorption, thickness swelling behaviour, specific wear rate and coefficient of friction were evaluated and compared. The XRD pattern of the chemically treated CG fiber-reinforced parrticle-filled epoxy composites was presented in the present study.

The influence of Modal–cotton (MC) fibre blend ratio and ring frame machine parameters such as front top roller loading and break draft on the blended yarn properties has been studied. Compact MC blended yarn samples of 14.75 tex with three different MC fibre blend ratio has been produced in a LR 6 ring spinning frame fitted with Suessen Compact drafting system. A robust design optimisation to minimise the variations of the output yarn properties such as blended yarn tenacity, yarn unevenness and hairiness caused because of the variations in the material as well as machine setting parameters is achieved through the Taguchi parametric design approach. It is found that the maximum compact MC blended yarn tenacity is 23.76 g/tex, which is influenced very much by MC fibre blend ratio but meagrely by top roller loading and break draft. Similarly, the minimum 9.54 U% and 3.59 hairiness index are achieved with 100:0 and 70:30 MC fibre blend ratio, respectively, at 23-kg top roller loading. Statistical ANOVA analysis is performed on the results and optimum values are obtained within the 95% confidential level through confirmation experiments.

Content available remote Cauchy multiplication of Euler summable series in ultrametric fields
EN
Euler summability method in a complete, non-trivially valued, ultrametric field of the characteristic zero was introduced by Natarajan in [7]. Some properties of the Euler summability method in such fields were studied in [2] and [7]. The purpose of the present note is to continue the study and to prove a pair of theorems on the Cauchy product of Euler summable sequences and series.
