Purpose: The purpose of this article is to evaluate the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in customer relationship management (CRM) within the logistics industry. The research problem was formulated, to what level does the use of AI enhance customer communication in the logistics sector? Design/methodology/approach: This study employs literature analysis method and the analysis of order fulfillment and communication with the logistics operator was carried out for manufacturing companies and a logistics company. The analysis included the process of communication in order fulfillment by logistics operators using AI tools. In addition, CRM at operators InPost and DHL were compared. Findings: Logistics operators use AI in the order fulfillment process to create value for end consumers. Analysis of the logistics process indicated that customers notice and appreciate the quality of logistics processes in the communication between the manufacturer, logistics operator and the end customer. The level of satisfaction is directly related to the efficiency of these processes. Research limitations/implications: The study focused exclusively on the end-customer communication process only in the logistics industry. Further research directions in customer relationship management will focus on reducing the time to market of product information and making logistics offerings more flexible in response to increasing customer demands, which forces companies to look for new AI tools in CRM in logistics. Practical implications: Analysis of the use of AI in customer relationship management will have practical implications in the logistics industry. It will influence possible changes in the order fulfillment process. An analysis of the use of CRM by Polish operator InPost and global operator DHL shows a similarity in system operation. Social implications: Effective use of AI in customer relationship management contributes to a more positive perception of communication using artificial intelligence in the logistics industry. Originality/value: A research gap has been identified: the lack of analysis and evaluation of the process of using AI in customer relationship management in the logistics industry.

Purpose: This article investigates the commercialization of communication within organizations, focusing on its drivers, impacts, and ethical considerations. By analyzing cultural and technological influences, the study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of how communication, as a measurable asset, shapes organizational interactions and performance. Design/methodology/approach: Specifically, this paper uses a Critical Literature Review (CLR) to investigate previous studies on communication in the disciplines of management, economics and human resource management. In order to gauge what is known about the commercial value of communication, comprehensive review of 30 relevant publications from 2009 to 2022 was conducted. Findings: The study reveals that while communication technologies and tools can be commodified, the intrinsic human value of authentic interaction remains essential for organizational success. Technological advancements, such as social media and ICT tools, have enhanced communication efficiency but also pose challenges like information overload and reduced clarity. Cultural dynamics play a pivotal role, requiring adaptive strategies to navigate the differences between collectivist and individualist societies. Ethical concerns, including equity and transparency, are increasingly significant in communication practices. Practical implications: The findings provide practical guidance for organizational leaders on how to effectively combine commodified communication tools with authentic, human-centered interaction. By prioritizing ethical and culturally aware communication practices, leaders can foster greater employee engagement, improve teamwork, and drive innovation. Social implications: The study highlights the importance of fair access to communication tools and practices, particularly in diverse and multicultural workplaces. By promoting inclusivity and transparency we can foster stronger collaboration and trust, addressing broader social concerns about fairness regarding communication. Originality/value: This study offers different perspective on the relationship between internal qualities of human communication and its growing commercialization in modern industry. It can be useful for communication professionals, leaders, and scholars who want to comprehend the economic and ethical consequences of communication in corporate settings.
Purpose: The main purpose of the article is to verify the similarity of ratings of groups of social media types. The study was conducted on speedway sport fans in Poland. An additional aim is to find differences in the perception of the variety of factors influencing the attractiveness and quality of social media pages. The reason for the article was also the need to find a relatively new and easy method to study media diversity in order to make decisions about managing communication with content audiences. Design/methodology/approach: The main interview method was used to achieve the intended purpose, based on a survey questionnaire targeted at active social media users of speedway clubs. Based on numerical data collected between 21 and 31 October 2024, a hypothesis was made about the homogeneity of social media use and the factors influencing the quality of communication. The data were statistically analysed using the Kruskal-Wallis ANOVA test. The subject of the study was respondents' assessments of the degree of comparability of fads and the factors characterising them. Only the evaluations of respondents who were active on social media were included in the study. Results: The results of the study provided statistical characteristics to verify the hypothesis of similarity of social media-related characteristics according to the procedure presented. Limitations/conclusions of the study: The main limitations of the study are the variety of factors that can influence communication management in sports organisations, as well as the multi-channel nature of the methods of reaching stakeholders. The paper focuses mainly on social media differences without identifying the strength of these differences. In the future, this approach can be adapted to address communication management issues, but requires more explicit results. Practical implications: the Kruskal-Wallis ANOVA method is a modification of the existing ANOVA/MANOVA method. The in-depth method used in this paper was chosen because in comparative tests the basic condition is a normal distribution for the individual series. The method used allows this condition to be bypassed, and this allows it to be used freely to learn about the assessment of social media homogeneity. It provides sports companies with a tool to recognise their competitive position in terms of marketing communication and the effectiveness of its online tools. Social implications: It is assumed that with the optimal application of the proposed research method, a tool is gained to objectively assess the homogeneity of the media and the factors that characterise it. This allows for a more effective management of communication outside the sports organisation. The method replaces the qualitative assessment of this management by showing the position among different types of media or factors. Originality/value: The article targets different companies active in the online space in multiple social media. The novelty is that the data obtained in the face-to-face survey provides a basis for analysis and answers the question of diversity and quality. The method used for social media is included for the first time. Knowledge of the diversity of groups influences communication management.
Purpose: to present issues related to behind-the-scenes marketing in the context of its relevance to the medical establishment as a social media communication channel. Design/methodology/approach: A literature analysis and critique was applied. A non-systematic literature review was conducted using scientific databases: Google Scholar, Taylor and Francis Online, PubMed and ScienceDirect. The scientific items were supplemented with industry literature and online sources on the issues addressed. Findings: Behind-the-scenes marketing on social media allows for better outreach to patients, building trust and loyalty to the medical facility. An authentic representation of the organisation's activities and values translates to greater service satisfaction. In addition, behind-the-scenes marketing enables better communication with patients and promotion of the quality of medical services, and the diverse content and its forms contribute to the organisation's online visibility. Research limitations/implications: The literature review was based only on selected scientific databases. The literature search used a specific combination of keywords using logical operators, which may have omitted other scientific items from the database. Practical implications: Medical facilities should create compelling and diverse behind-the-scenes content on various social media and share the values and mission of the facility. Such activities attract patients' attention and humanise the brand. Medical staff should be trained to communicate with patients to understand their needs better, which improves satisfaction with medical services and influences loyalty. Social implications: Facilities should use behind-the-scenes marketing to communicate relevant information about health, prevention and available services. In this way, patients will be better informed and can make more informed decisions about their health. In addition, the authenticity presented in behind-the-scenes marketing can help strengthen the perception of healthcare facilities as entities focused on the health and well-being of patients. Originality/value: The coverage of issues treating behind-the-scenes marketing is based exclusively on foreign literature, enriching the previous scientific output concerning marketing in the enterprise and medical industry, signalling the author's contribution to developing the discipline of management and quality sciences. There is not much research in the analysed sources in this area, especially in the Polish literature, which provides excellent opportunities for further exploration of the issues raised. The article primarily addresses researchers and scientists dealing with behind-the-scenes marketing in the medical industry. In addition, the article is valuable for managers of medical institutions dealing with communication with stakeholders, mainly patients.
Purpose: The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between the age of the respondents and their perception of the impact of selected organisational factors in terms of adoption of innovation. Design/methodology/approach: In the study a proprietary survey questionnaire was used. Factors were selected for the questionnaire based on literature research, desk research, opinions of panel participants (experts), and pilot studies conducted in IT companies. Findings: The age of the respondents influenced their perception of the influence of multiple factors at different stages of the innovation process in terms of adoption, as well as their assessment of the shape of this influence. Younger people tended to perceive the influence of individual factors more frequently than older people. At the same time, younger people tended to attribute less influence on the adoption of innovations to individual factors than older age groups (there was often a trend of gradual increase in the above-mentioned evaluations with the age of the respondents). Research limitations/implications: The research presented in this article has some limitations. Firstly, it was conducted only in Poland, secondly only in the IT sector, and thirdly, the age of the respondents was considered in the context of their perception of the influence of only selected factors related to internal and external communication and organisational culture on the adoption of innovation. Practical implications: Demonstrate the approach of diverse age groups of IT employees to the adaptation of innovations in the context of the impact that communication and organisational culture have on the different stages of this process. This will be helpful in verifying which factors need to be improved to have a greater impact on respondents' perception of the topic at hand. Social implications: The results of the research show that companies should focus on creating a coherent communication system, familiar to all participants in the organisation, which will be an integral part of the organisational culture. Then there is a chance that the trend presented in the research will change and increasingly younger employees will recognise the significant impact of both communication and the culture on the adoption of innovations. Originality/value: Determine the relationship between the age of the respondents and their perception of the influence of various factors related to communication (both internal and external) and organisational culture on the adoption of innovations.
Purpose: The aim of the study is to analyze actions supporting effective communication in IT outsourcing and to identify those that are perceived as the most effective. The study focuses on assessing the impact of communication strategies on the quality of cooperation between organizations and IT service providers. Design/methodology/approach: The study was conducted using a quantitative method based on a survey sent to 723 respondents in 2023. The data was analyzed using multivariate correspondence analysis (MCA) to identify relationships between variables. Findings: The results of the study indicate that the most important factors supporting communication in IT outsourcing are communication standards, the use of technology and building a culture of trust. It was also discovered that the ability to flexibly respond to challenges has a significant impact on the effectiveness of cooperation. Research limitations/implications: The limitation of the study is its reliance on a single method, i.e. a survey, which may affect the subjective nature of the responses. The study was conducted on a sample that may not be fully representative of the various IT outsourcing sectors. Practical implications: The study results provide practical guidance for organizations on how to improve communication with IT service providers by standardizing processes, leveraging technology, and developing a culture of trust. Social implications: The use of activities supporting effective communication can increase trust and commitment in business relationships, which has a positive impact on the social dimension of cooperation. Originality/value: The study contributes to the literature on communication management in IT outsourcing by combining a theoretical perspective with empirical research results. The use of MCA provides a novel approach to the analysis of communication activities in this context.

This paper describes procedures for the safe operation of helicopters in an energized wire environment. The procedures are designed to respect the appropriate minimum distances that must be maintained between the extremities of the helicopter and energized and grounded parts when working on energized overhead lines and in energized substations. The required minimum distances, referred to as MAD (Minimum Approach Distances), have been derived from full-scale switching impulse sparkover tests using an MD500 helicopter insulated from the ground and operating at full throttle and with full fuel load onboard. Based on a large number of tests with the helicopter anchored to an insulating pedestal and positioned between phases of an energized line, worst-case situations were identified for two locations of the helicopter: (1) helicopter between energized phases and electrically bonded to one energized phase and (2) helicopter electrically floating (i.e., not bonded to either phase) and positioned at worst location between energized phases and between phases. Tests followed standardized testing procedures and provided the 50% sparkover voltage (crest value) U50, and the standard deviation (σ) of the distribution of sparkover voltage probability density function. The test data were analyzed and presented to experts in the live working community. The data have been adopted as the basis for inclusion in international standards (IEEE, IEC) for the use of helicopters in the energized wire environment. An example of the use of a helicopter in an energized environment is included.

Analizom poddano szereg reprezentatywnych budynków brutalistycznych, a jako parametry badawcze przyjęto trzy wiodące reguły: eksponowanie konstrukcji, artykułowanie rozwiązań technicznych, podkreślanie znaczenia ruchu. Wynikiem badań jest systematyka detali i elementów architektonicznych brutalizmu odzwierciedlająca wpływ poszczególnych zasad.

Brutalism was an architectural trend that developed in the years 1950-1980 and was based primarily on the doctrine of New Brutalism created by Alison and Peter Smithson and the style of Le Corbusier’s post-war buildings. Its most important features are the heaviness and massiveness of forms, clear spatial contrasts, strong articulation of solids and rough textures. However, equally important are the details specific to brutalism, which in many buildings determined their aesthetic expression and, moreover, were the manifestation of creative ideas and assumptions. The main goal of the work was to identify and characterize the details resulting from the theoretical principles of brutalism. A number of representative brutalist buildings were analyzed, and three leading rules were adopted as research parameters: exposing the structure, articulating technical solutions, emphasizing the importance of movement. The result of the research is a taxonomy of details and architectural elements of brutalism, reflecting the influence of individual principles.
FC3). Architektura taka występuje m.in. w sterownikach implementujących środowisko inżynierskie CPDev. W artykule zaproponowano metodę grupowania zmiennych, prowadzącą do zmniejszenia łącznego czasu cyklu komunikacyjnego. Zaimplementowano model optymalizacyjny pozwalający na automatyczne znalezienie optymalnego grupowania. Przeprowadzono eksperymenty, a następnie omówiono uzyskane wyniki. Rezultaty przeprowadzonych badań zostaną wykorzystane przy rozwoju środowiska inżynierskiego CPDev.

Efficient communication is crucial for the proper operation of distributed automation systems. The article focuses on one of the aspects of such communication, related to the mixed reading of binary and register variables from the PLC controller in the Modbus RTU protocol. The research assumed a memory architecture with common addressing of variables of different types, allowing reading binary variables not only using dedicated bit functions (such as FC1), but also Modbus register functions (such as FC3). Such an architecture occurs, e.g., in controllers implementing the CPDev engineering environment. The article proposes a method of appropriate grouping of variables, leading to a reduction of the total communication cycle time. An optimization model has been implemented to automatically find the optimal grouping. Experiments were carried out and the obtained results were discussed. The results of the conducted research will be used in the development of the CPDev engineering environment.

Jakie normy prawne pozwalają moderować i modelować dyskurs o bezpieczeństwie? Artykuł ma charakter wprowadzający do problematyki.

This paper aims to make an attempt at understanding and explaining security through language, communication and law, and the impact these three aspects have on power and authority. Due to its subjective, processual perspective, security becomes a domain used to initiate or neutralise specific social phenomena that are more or less interconnected: it involves the official, state-mandated implementation of specific security policies, as well as the informal dimension of the mechanisms at work behind the scenes. It is worth stressing that the investigation related to security discourse analysis involves the following questions: How to model or moderate security discourse to minimise threats? Is such discourse moderation relevant? What is its significance in the context of disinformation and information warfare? What legal norms permit the moderation and modelling of security discourse? The following article provides an introduction into these issues.
