This paper presents a proposal for the use of a 5G network to provide communications at the command post of a tactical unit. The use of this technology is intended to ensure fast and reliable circulation of information between command system function holders (subscribers, communication system and network resource users) without the need for time-consuming deployment of a wired network. The above requires ensuring coverage of a given area by a 5G signal. The general characteristics of 5G systems are presented, followed by a characterisation of the system model. The results of simulation studies conducted the use of the HTZ Warfare software for the assumed case are also presented.

FWA is widely recognized as an efficient, scalable, and cost-effective solution for delivering highspeed broadband services, especially where fiber rollout is challenging. Despite 5G’s support for high data rates using MIMO, real-world FWA often suffers from dominant LOS propagation and static terminals, which limit spatial diversity and MIMO rank. This study evaluates 3GPP closed-loop precoding in such conditions and introduces an adaptive phase-shift optimization approach to enhance spatial decorrelation. Analyses performed in a simulated MIMO 4×4 environment show up to 30-50% capacity gain with the proposed method in static LOS-dominant scenarios. Conducted measurements further confirms the limited use of higher-rank MIMO in practice, which high-lights the potential of the proposed method to improve the performance of FWA under constrained spatial conditions.

As a very promising choice for wireless communication, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology has the potential to alleviate traffic capacity limitations in high-speed broadband wireless network access. The MIMO system uses multiple antennas at the sending and receiving ends to increase the performance and efficiency of wireless communication systems. This study presents a 4-antenna array for multi-input multi output (MIMO) functioning in smartphones running in the 2.3-GHz band (2160–2440 MHz). The antenna array is made up of a ground plane at the bottom of the FR-4 dielectric substrate and four patch antennas of a specific size placed in the top layer. Every antenna in the suggested array is coaxially fed, has a characteristic impedance of 50 ohms, and has the identical dimensions—13 x 9 mm2 (0.100λ × 0.069 λ), where λ is the wavelength at 2.3 GHz). To obtain the appropriate resonance frequency, four inverted L-strips are applied in the ground plane. The simulation results were produced using CST software. This antenna is built, and typically, experimental results such as the S-parameter and radiation pattern are reported, with good agreement between simulation and actual results. The manufactured four-antenna arrays have a 10 dB return loss in the long-term evolution (LTE) range of 2.16 GHz to 2.44 GHz. The simulated envelope correlation coefficient (ECC) was below 0.005.

Content available remote 5G mobile data transmission and fiber optic : complementarity or substitutability?
EN
Research objectives and hypothesis/research questions : The aim of the study was to answer the question: do the data transfer parameters using mobile networks and fiber optics support the hypothesis of substitutability between the two media? If both techniques produced comparable results, the development of fiber optic networks would be unjustified, as the network providing mobile internet access covers 98% of Poland’s territory. Research methods :Comparison - in 2024, 5,400,000 tests of fixed-line internet parameters and 615,000 tests of mobile internet delivered over 5G technology were conducted, initiated by speedtest.pl users. Each test is unique, as it examines network parameters at the time of testing. Each has unique parameters: download time, upload time, and ping. Main results : The number of fiber-optic network users increased by approximately 27% between 2019 and 2023, demonstrating the demand for stable, fixed-line internet delivered via fiber. During this same period, we observed an average 11% decline in the number of copper network (xDSL) users, while the number of Docsis users (a medium used for cable TV) remained stable. Both technologies will remain complementary in the long term, because while mobile data transfer speeds result from their technical parameters and do not exceed 300 Mb/s, FTTx networks are limited to 8 Gb/s, and the most popular packages, such as 300 Mb/s, are offered for marketing purposes. There is no justificati on for offering faster transfer rates to mass consumers. Implications for theory and practice : The most important are the practical implications described in the article: optical fibers offer much more stable data transmission, especially for business users, in areas with lower population density, where it is possible to receive data provided by mobile operators, the FWA (fixed wireless access) technique may be an alternative to optical fibers.

W przypadku gdyby obydwie techniki dawały porównywalne wyniki, rozwój sieci światłowodowych byłby nieuzasadniony ze względów ekonomicznych, gdyż sieć zapewniająca dostęp do internetu mobilnego pokrywa 98% terytorium Polski i zapewnia porównywalną prędkość pobierania danych.

Wireless communication, especially that relying on 5G technology, plays a crucial role in modern networks. The use of massive multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) systems is one of the key advancements in this area, as it improves energy efficiency (EE) and spectral efficiency (SE), making such a technique critical for future communication networks. This article focuses on optimizing EE and SE using a new metaheuristic multiverse optimization algorithm (MVO), and compares the results obtained with those achieved with the use of the Pachycondyla Apicalis algorithm (API) and other methods. Furthermore, the study explores the best values for factors such as coherence time, power amplifier efficiency, and hardware power in each user, with all of them playing a critical role in maximizing EE. The authors also examine the correlation between EE and SE in the downlink direction. The results show that the MVO approach achieves better performance in fewer iterations compared to API and other methods, demonstrating its potential for improving wireless communication systems.

Strong demand for mobile broadband cellular systems has boosted the popularity of emerging high-speed modulation technologies such as multiple input multiple output (MIMO) and cyclic prefix orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (CP-OFDM). However, CP-OFDM suffers from some significant drawbacks in 5G networks, including severe out-of-band emissions (OOBE) and poor spectral efficiency. Filtered orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (F-OFDM) has therefore been found to be a good alternative, as it allows to address these shortcomings by relying on digital filtering to eliminate OOBE and improve spectral efficiency. This study focuses on evaluating the performance of MIMO F-OFDM systems and comparing it with the results achieved by MIMO CP-OFDM, with a particular emphasis placed on reducing spectral leakage and improving overall system performance by using various window functions. Six window types, including Hanning, Hamming, Blackman, root raised cosine (RRC), Nuttall, and Blackman-Harris, are investigated. The research aimed to assess the performance of the system in terms of power spectral density (PSD), peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR), and bit error rate (BER), while using different modulation schemes, i.e. QPSK, 16QAM, 64QAM, and 256QAM, over Rayleigh fading and AWGN channels. Simulation results show that the proposed window filter (Nuttall-Blackman-Hanning) significantly reducesOOBEwhile maintaining efficient spectral performance. The findings demonstrate that MIMO F-OFDM with the proposed filters achieves better spectral efficiency and reliability, making it a promising candidate for 5G applications requiring high data rates, low latency, and robust signal integrity.

One of the most important factors in radio network design is path loss - a phenomenon that may be measured using a variety of techniques, including deterministic, empirical, machine learning, and deep learning models. Each approach has its own limitations, such as inability to capture non-linear interactions, high computational resource demand, and inability to reflect changes in environmental conditions, among many others. The deep learning model has the capacity to recognize intricate patterns and has been essential in removing those obstacles; therefore, in this study it is used for path loss prediction in 5G communications in the South Asian region. The model makes use of long- and short-term memory (LSTM), gated recurrent unit (GRU), convolutional neural network (CNN), and dense neural network (DNN) approaches to take advantage of all the benefits that each algorithm provides. The performance of the proposed strategy was validated by testing it against multiple state-of-the-art approaches, while relying on the same dataset. An examination of the relevance of characteristics has also been carried out to gain a better understanding of the influence of path loss. A variety of characteristics that are directly related to path loss were evaluated, followed by an examination of how they affect the decision-making process. The results show a possible solution that can help handle this path loss estimation for mmWave communication, especially for 5G networks and beyond.

Modern crisis management requires resilient communication systems capable of operating independently from public telecommunication infrastructure during emergencies. This paper analyzes Standalone Non-Public Networks (SNPN) based on 5G New Radio technology as an autonomous solution for crisis communication. The research determines optimal SNPN configurations ensuring communication continuity in disaster scenarios while maintaining operational and budget constraints. The methodology employs advanced ray-tracing propagation models and three-dimensional environmental analysis in the 4 GHz band, incorporating adaptive beamforming and satellite backhaul integration. Results demonstrate that localized SNPN deployments provide superior interference management and critical redundancy compared to public networks. Implementation of Ultra-Reliable Low-Latency Communications (URLLC) and network slicing enables effective prioritization of rescue traffic. Strategic base station positioning achieves optimal balance between coverage, performance, and cost efficiency. The study confirms that software-defined SNPN architectures significantly enhance communication resilience against external failures, ensuring operational continuity when terrestrial infrastructure is compromised.

The patch antenna usually used for many wireless applications, and fifth generation (5G) is the most attracting application in the field of millimeter wave communications recently. The researchers worked on solving problems those considered milestones against using patch antenna for 5G applications such as being an antenna with moderate gain and narrow operating bandwidth with high side lobe levels. In this article a microstrip patch antenna had been presented to operate over the n258 - Band for 5G communications at 26 GHz with an operating bandwidth around than 7 GHz. The proposed antenna was printed on Rogers RT/Duroid 5880 substrate. A high gain of 8.10 dB had been achieved with high Front-to-Back ratio of 24.47 dB and very low side lobe levels far field radiation pattern around -17 dB. The proposed antenna covered the operating bandwidth n258 for fifth generation applications in range of (24.25 - 27.50) GHz. The Computer simulation Technology (CST) had been used as a simulation environment for this design.

The 5G enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) category offers faster data rates, network capacity, and user experiences than prior generations. This research aims to boost the 5G uplink user equipment (UE) user data transfer rate. We use Python to build frameworks and analyze data. A 250-m-radius centre-excited picocell base station (PBS) is investigated to support 15 clients. Cell-range Poisson distribution determines user position. All UEs send channel state information (CSI) to the PBS, which evaluates signal transmission channel conditions. The study uses Rayleigh, Rician, free space path, and long-distance route loss models. This inquiry produces a channel state dataset and then it is formulated dataset is dynamic. For service-specific requirements, UEs use k-means clustering. Clustering concatenates bandwidth, enhancing system efficiency and UE sum rate. The research includes observations from simulation findings, in which UEs are grouped by channel gain, achievable data rate, and minimum service-required data rate. Users in cluster 3 achieve the highest cumulative rate of 9.09 Mbps after clustering with an average of 7.16 Mbps. Bandwidth concatenation increased system capacity, meeting each UE service needs. After evaluating performance criteria for different clustering models, k-means remains the best algorithm for the framework. The methodology was carefully designed to satisfy study goals. This paper investigates beamforming and dynamic clustering to improve user fairness and performance.
