For over a decade, the Late Jurassic palaeontological site Owadów-Brzezinki has yielded numerous fossils, including species new to science. Although research results are published regularly, some groups and taxa discovered have yet to be described and published. Here, we present the latest finds, focusing on groups currently being described. Initial detailed research on fossil insects has confirmed the presence of three orders: Coleoptera, Odonata and Orthoptera. The current interpretation of insect taphonomy and the challenges involved in searching for fossil insects are briefly discussed. Previously undescribed vertebrate fossils include the jaw apparatuses of Pycnodontiformes fish. Recently, an almost complete skeleton of a primitive teleost and three series of actinopterygian vertebrae with associated bones were found. Among new reptile finds, an almost completely preserved turtle carapace has been identified, though its systematic position remains unresolved. Plesiosaurian material was previously represented only by isolated teeth, but recent results of the fieldwork yielded section of axial skeleton and associated limb elements, thus representing the first postcranial skeleton of a plesiosaurfrom the site. These findings underscore the significant scientific potential of the Owadów-Brzezinki site and highlight its close relationship with similar Late Jurassic faunal assemblages from Great Britain.

The aim of the article was to select benchmarking activities that universities will be able to use at each stage of the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). At the same time, it should be emphasized that the education process is a priority for educational institutions, and the implementation of the principles of sustainable development is possible through intensive education processes combined with the application of knowledge in practice. This is a challenge for the university because it requires remodeling the current culture, changes in processes and the perception of certain cultural and social phenomena. This is likely to involve a change in the teacher-student relationship, a change in the traditional education process to practice-based education and will also require an interdisciplinary context in the content provided. This is precisely the challenge for outstanding educators. Good practices published by universities often contain generalities. It is rare to find specific data indicating, for example, cost savings through the implementation of a specific good practice or a measurable social effect, and such a summary would be a better argument for followers than a description of the good practice itself. The effect of implementation is then impossible to verify and may prove to be very exaggerated.

Celem artykułu było wytypowanie działań na zasadzie benchmarkingu, które szkoły wyższe będą mogły zastosować na każdym etapie wdrażania celów zrównoważonego rozwoju (ZR). Równocześnie należy podkreślić, że dla placówek edukacyjnych priorytetem jest proces edukowania, a wdrażanie zasad zrównoważonego rozwoju jest możliwe dzięki intensywnym procesom edukacyjnym połączonym z zastosowaniem wiedzy w praktyce. Jest to dla uczelni wyzwanie, bo wymaga przemodelowania dotychczasowej kultury, zmian w procesach i w postrzeganiu pewnych zjawisk, szczególnie kulturowych i społecznych, będzie wiązało się ze zmianą relacji nauczyciel - student, zmianą w tradycyjnym procesie kształcenia na kształcenie oparte na praktyce, będzie wymagało również interdyscyplinarnego kontekstu w przekazywanych treściach. Jest to właśnie wyzwanie dla wybitnych edukatorów. Publikowane przez uczelnie dobre praktyki często zawierają ogólniki. Rzadko spotyka się konkretne dane wskazujące np. redukcję kosztów poprzez wdrożenie danej dobrej praktyki albo mierzalny efekt społeczny, a takie podsumowanie byłoby lepszym argumentem dla naśladowców niż sam opis dobrej praktyki. Efekt wdrożenia nie jest wówczas możliwy do zweryfikowania i może okazać się w rzeczywistości bardzo podkoloryzowany.

For over ten years, the Lower to Upper Tithonian boundary beds cropping out in the Owadów–Brzezinki quarry have yielded numerous fossils of ammonites, bivalves, brachiopods, xiphosurans, decapods, insects, and vertebrates – including actinopterygian fishes and various reptiles and others, all of which exhibit fine preservation of their anatomical details due to special environmental conditions during their fossilization. The Owadów–Brzezinki section is also important for stratigraphical correlations because it contains ammonite faunas indicative of the NE European and NW European Subboreal zonal schemes, as well as Tethyan calpionellids. The whole faunal as- semblage, which represents taxa of many iconic groups of Mesozoic animals, has created the opportunity to establish the ‘Owadów– Brzezinki geopark’, a geoeducation area where the public, and especially the young, can learn about the beauty of the natural history of the region.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has been forming very dynamically and intensively for several decades. The rapid development, as well as the relatively large scope of this concept, which is cross-sectionally related to a number of different social disciplines, so far causes a very significant terminological inconsistency. The paper focuses on the relationship between CSR and the financial performance of companies, or on the positive consequences of applying the concept of CSR in business on the example of a selected company Deutsche Telekom AG, which applies CSR in its business and which achieves positive results not only from this point of view, but also from the point of view of company profitability. When analyzing the company from the point of view of the global market, it quantitatively monitors the impact of the measured indicators on the profitability of total assets (ROA) and on net profit, by testing the basic assumptions made on the classical linear regression model. The main goal of the paper was to find out the impact of CSR on the financial results of the parent company Deutsche Telekom AG for the period 2001-2021 and to find the relationship between CSR and economic benefits.
