W referacie skrótowo została przedstawiona historia Koła SEP Siarkopol na tle rozwoju przemysłu siarkowego i miasta Tarnobrzega. Przedstawiono również kierunki i formy działalności koła, władze oraz sylwetki prezesów koła.

The article presents the history of the development of the city of Tarnobrzeg and the related history of the sulfur industry. The discovery of huge sulfur deposits in the 1950s in the Tarnobrzeg region by prof. Stanisław Pawłowski contributed to the creation of a large sulfur plant with open-pit and borehole mines. The sulfur plant gathered around itself a well-trained staff of electricians and power engineers, who initiated the establishment of the SEP Siarkopol Branch. Later, as a result of administrative changes, the sulfur industry also became the nucleus of the Tarnobrzeg Branch of SEP. The history of the establishment of the Siarkopol Circle, the current authorities and the directions and forms of activity of The Siarkopol Circle, as well as the profiles of all the presidents of the Circle, were also presented. The Siarkopol Circle can undoubtedly boast a rich history and can also boast of numerous successes in its over 60-year history of existence. The circle pursues its statutory goals, actively works for its members, continues the traditions of the association, trying to integrate the efforts of many generations of electricians. Members of the circle also care for the technical progress of their home workplace and improve work safety.

Likwidacja kopalń siarki z rekultywacją i zagospodarowaniem terenów poeksploatacyjnych jest podobna pod względem stopnia złożoności do ich budowy, a dodatkowo utrudniona ze względu na kumulację w krótkim czasie liczby likwidowanych kopalń. Programy likwidacji kopalń w Tarnobrzeskim Zagłębiu Siarkowym wskazują na możliwość przywrócenia terenom pogórniczym wartości użytkowych. Warunkiem jest dotowanie z budżetu państwa. Ciągłe zmniejszanie przyznawanych środków może znacząco wydłużyć czas realizacji, a nawet zniweczyć efekty. Artykuł zawiera również historię eksploatacji złóż siarki w Polsce.

Liquidation of sulphur mines with reclamation and remanagement of post-mining areas is similar with regard to complexity degree to construction of identical mines and additionally it is made harder because of accumulation, in a short time, of a number of mines undergoing liquidation. Programmes of mines liquidation in Tarnobrzeg Sulphur Basin indicates to a possibility of regaining of post mining areas to usability value. The condition rests with state subsidies. Continuous reduction of the allowable means can considerably extend the time of realisation and even destroy the effects. The article comprises also a history of sulphur reserves exploitation on Poland.
