This paper presents a new framework for risk-based assessment of technological and organizational construction solutions using fuzzy reliability. In construction practice, there is a problem that often the actual duration and budget of the project is longer than the estimated figures at the design stage of the technological and organizational solution. In addition, individual construction activities during construction are affected by various risk factors, which can also increase the duration or budget of construction. At the same time, technological and organizational solutions and risks are often associated with the concept of reliability. Therefore, the authors analyzed various frameworks for assessing technological and organizational reliability in construction projects, identified strengths and weaknesses, and proposed a new approach to assessing technological and organizational reliability. In addition, the authors clarified the terms of serial and parallel systems used in the theory of reliability for technical systems taking into account the specifics of the construction process. This article presents an algorithm for fuzzy reliability assessment of technological and organizational solutions that considers the impact of risks on each work. The numerical example presented in this article allows us to evaluate the practical significance of the proposed assessment tool on the network model. The conclusion suggests further research and improvement of the proposed framework.

W artykule zostaną omówione wybrane aspekty dostosowania kształcenia matematycznego do specyfiki kierunku na przykładzie trzech kierunków matematycznych prowadzonych w Politechnice Łódzkiej.

The article discusses selected aspects of adapting mathematical education to the specifics of the field of study using the example of three mathematical fields of study conducted at the Lodz University of Technology. The comparative analysis concerns the approach to education within basic subjects, such as mathematical analysis, algebra, and mathematical statistics, and the impact of its differentiation on the graduate's profile. The fields discussed have a lot in common, but they also have significant differences. The common denominator is the mathematical competences possessed. The differences concern the distribution of: individual branches of mathematics, forms of classes, scope, or teaching methods used (including active methods such as flipped classroom, project based learning, case teaching), but also specialist issues. The final conclusions concern achieving a certain universality of education conducted in this way. Thanks to it, the academic staff continuosly develop their teaching competences, taking into account new trends (active methods of education), including deepening their IT skills. A certain benefit is the increase in the attractiveness of mathematical fields among candidates for studies at the Lodz University of Technology and the parallel interest of employers in graduates of these fields.
Purpose: In this article, let us seek an answer to the question of what the implications of the use of AI in the area of recruitment and selection of employees (R&S) may be for the organisational climate. The first part of the article aims to identify the scope of the application of AI in HRM and to demonstrate the research gap regarding the impact of the use of AI in R&S on organisational climate. Design/methodology/approach: Desk research was conducted in the context of the use of AI in HRM. We have selected review articles that highlight the opportunities and risks of using AI. The article has been divided into two parts. In the first, we attempted to identify AI activity in HRM and R&S. In the second, we have conducted a detailed case study of AI applications in S&R and discussed its impact on the organisational climate. Findings: Our research has shown that the relationship between the use of AI in R&S and organisational climate has not been a focus of research to date. The research led to the conclusion that improvements in the efficiency of R&S caused by the application of AI, can have a significant impact on organisational climate. Due to the relatively young field of research as well as the pioneering practice of applying AI in this area, the consequences of its application are not yet well revealed. Originality/value: Typical variables for evaluating process execution, such as time, cost, quality, safety, have become essential perspectives for evaluating R&S task execution by AI. In the case of modern organisations, where value is created from knowledge and innovation, much of which is motivated by social interactions, there is a need for a creative atmosphere. Will homogenous corporate employees, selected by predictive algorithms, be able to be creative as a team? Will the polarisation of creative debates disappear? Will anyone in a unified organisation be able to challenge existing solutions and propose other, better ones? For the sake of efficiency improvements, do we want to renounce social relationships, the excitement of a new solution? These are the dilemmas we signal. Our research points to the challenges facing HR departments and professionals in the age of the digital revolution.
Purpose: The use of artificial intelligence (AI) also affects processes in human resource management (HRM). We address the impact of AI-led recruitment and selection (R&S) processes on organisational climate (atmosphere). Due to the pioneering practice of using AI in this area, the consequences of its application are not yet well revealed. We, therefore, propose to apply a method to interpolate phenomena already observed for a long time related to the practice of applying AI to the area of organisational climate. Military pilot education, including flight training, is a long, expensive, and complex process. The main goal is to produce as many skilled professionals as possible ready to perform flight tasks on the front-line aircraft and push them to their workload limits with complete control. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to select and educate young people with the aptitude and abilities to perform the most demanding military flight tasks. The creation of a model for the education and training of military pilots depends on the requirements of the Czech Air Force Command and the teaching capacities of the University of Defence and the Aviation Training Centre in Pardubice. Rearmament of the Czech Air Force and the required number of pilots requires a change in the new military pilot training model. This contribution describes a new approach to Czech Air Force pilot education and training in the current security conditions in the world.
The study concerns an expert interview conducted with Lieutenant commander Major Józef Rembisz, the founder and first commander of the Formosa Special Military Unit. The interview was realised on 28.01.2018 in Gdynia, at Skwer Kościuszki. The meeting with Mr Józef Rembisz was attended by 25 students of the Uniformed Services Branch of the Academy of Physical Education from Biała Podlaska. During the meeting, the interviewee brought up historical aspects, presented his biography, and presented his position resulting from observations and reflections on the current possibilities for the preparation of contemporary generations of candidates for selection, i.e. the main test carried out in the Polish special forces. The observations given by the interviewee were aimed at making the listeners aware of the direction they should follow in order to appropriately model their motor skills in order to adequately prepare for the aforementioned selection. The results of the interview are the thoughts and suggestions of an experienced commander of the aforementioned special forces unit suggesting the direction that should be followed by contemporary candidates interested in joining the service in special forces.
Multi-objective optimization (MOO) considers several objectives to find a feasible set of solutions. Selecting a solution from Pareto frontier (PF) solutions requires further effort. This work proposes a new classification procedure that fits into the analytic hierarchy Process (AHP) to pick the best solution. The method classifies PF solutions using pairwise comparison matrices for each objective. Sectorization is the problem of splitting a region into smaller sectors based on multiple objectives. The efficacy of the proposed method is tested in such problems using our instances and real data from a Portuguese delivery company. A non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) is used to obtain PF solutions based on three objectives. The proposed method rapidly selects an appropriate solution. The method was assessed by comparing it with a method based on a weighted composite single-objective function.
Methane drainage is one of the main steps in underground coal mining projects. The operation of methane extraction from coal mines/seams is important from the safety, economic, and technical points of view. Selecting the appropriate method for methane drainage is very difficult, and if the method is not chosen correctly, it will lead to environmental problems. The relationship between different influencing factors, parameters, and methods (and how they affect) is significant in choosing the method of gas drainage. In the current study, a hybrid algorithm is presented based on an Analytic Network Process (ANP) and a method based on the mathematical model (BWM). In the presented approach, the weighting of criteria by the BWM method and ranking of alternatives based on effective criteria is performed using the network analysis-based method. “Operating and capital costs” were the most effective criteria, and “in-situ stress” was the least effective factor in the selection process. The results show that the “post‐drainage method using cross-measure boreholes” was ranked first with the highest score (0.249). Applying the selected method in the Tabas coal mine (case study) indicates that the proposed algorithm is compatible with real-world conditions and can have various applications in multi-criteria decision-making problems.
This paper deals with the existence of solutions to the following differential inclusion: x˙ (t) ∈ F(t, x(t)) a.e. on [0, T[ and x(t) ∈ K, for all t ∈ [0, T], where F : [0, T] × K → 2E is a Carathéodory multifunction and K is a closed subset of a separable Banach space E.
The results of an underground study of the interaction of expansion bolts with the rock mass, aimed at the improvement of rock bolting selection principles in copper ore mines in the LGOM (Legnica and Głogów copper industry district) area are presented in this paper. Although the grouted bolts are generally suitable for use in most types of rock mass, expansion bolting still accounts for a significant share of underground mine workings in two of the three LGOM copper ore mines. This is mainly due to the simplicity of installation and the resultant higher bolting performance, which, among other things, has its economic benefits. Based on the research carried out, it was concluded that in conducive geo-mechanical conditions, mechanically fixed bolts work correctly with the rock mass, however, the correct selection of the bolt design for specific roof conditions is crucial. In order to verify the proper interaction of expansion bolts of different designs with rock mass with varying properties, 6 typical designs of expansion bolts used in the LGOM mines were selected and 7 underground test sites were prepared where the bolts had been installed. The tests were performed in a crosswise manner, i.e., each tested bolt design was tested on each of the test sites. For the mentioned 42 bolt-rock mass systems, the underground performance tests of rock bolting were performed immediately after its installation and then, after 1 and after 2 years from installation. Based on the results of the tests, the selected expansion bolts of different designs were evaluated for proper interaction with rock mass of varying properties.
W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję doboru deskowań w celu zagwarantowania wysokiej wydajności procesów związanych z montażem deskowań, montażem zbrojenia, betonowaniem, pielęgnacją i rozdeskowaniem (i ewentualnym demontażem deskowań). W proponowanej metodzie 3F (Flexible Formwork Flow) wykorzystano podstawowe założenia Industry 5.0, Lean i Agile.

The article presents the concept of formwork selection to guarantee high efficiency of processes related to formwork assembly, reinforcement installation, concreting, maintenance and stripping (and possible dismantling of formwork). The proposed 3F (Flexible Formwork Flow) method uses the basic assumptions of Industry 5.0, Lean and Agile. This means adopting such basic strategies as: employee support by robots (industry 5.0 emphasizes cooperation between people and robots - on construction sites, this means the possibility of using an exoskeleton to support the employee), flexibility and adaptation (flexibility and quick adaptation to changing conditions - during the working day or during the curing and maturation of concrete are crucial to ensuring rhythmic production - e.g. modification of the concrete mix to ensure the possibility of formwork rotation despite changing conditions - e.g. ambient temperature), digitization and data analysis (the use of digital technologies ensures the possibility of monitoring processes in progress and the environment and management in real time), training and development of employees (improving employee skills through training and improving procedures is of key importance, which is the basis for increasing efficiency and reducing the need to perform rework), sustainable development (in the case of construction, this may mean the use of closed-Ioop or biodegradable materials - minimizing the impact on the environment), minimizing waste (an action typical of lean is aimed at limiting losses resulting from, for example, unjustified storage, transport or waiting). The proposed 3F method, thanks to the above-mentioned strategies, makes it possible to achieve greater compliance of planning and implementation of processes on the construction site and stable process performance despite the need to operate in a turbulent environment. The use of the described 3F method is beneficial for both the formwork supplier (reliability in the operation of the formwork warehouse) and the contractor on the construction site (greater consistency of planning and implementation of processes on the construction site).
The main idea of this article is the necessity to take into account the multi-variant technological and organizational solutions of individual construction works in order to ensure rational planning for the implementation of construction projects. In practice, selection of construction works most often limited to the evaluation of technological and organizational solutions on the basis of time and cost criteria. However, it should be remembered that construction projects usually have a complex technological and organizational structure. This fact may increase the durations and costs of individual works in relation to their planned durations and costs. Therefore, the authors propose to take into account the criterion of technological and organizational complexity of the assessed construction work. The article describes the procedure for the technological and organizational optimization of construction works. A numerical example of the method of selecting technological and organizational solutions with the use of a fuzzy relation of preferences is also presented. The article also proposes to combine the computational selection model with the network planning model in a graphic form. This approach expands the computational and decision-making possibilities of network models in the practice of planning construction projects.

W trakcie realizacji przedsięwzięcia budowlanego, złożoność technologiczna i organizacyjna może generować czynniki zakłócające synchronizację robot poszczególnych specjalności, utrudniające płynną organizację robót, itp. Takie podejście rozszerza możliwości obliczeniowe i decyzyjne modeli sieciowych w praktyce planowania projektów budowlanych.
W artykule zaprezentowano wyniki badań wytrzymałości udarowej wyłączników nadmiarowo-prądowych stosowanych do dobezpieczania ograniczników przepięć.

The article presents the lightning surge characteristics of miniature circuit breakers (MCB) used for backup protection of surge protection devices (SPD). They are summarized in a table which distinguishes three possible operating states of the overcurrent switch, i.e. no operation, disconnection, damage. MCBs have a very low tripping current for a lightning impulse current of 10/350 μs. Regardless of the rated value of the cut-off current, the tripping occurs for a surge with an average peak value of 1.4 kA.
Rozdrabnianie to jeden z najbardziej energochłonnych procesów technologicznych branży przeróbczej.
