The article deals with the issue of spatial and functional transformation scenarios of the Tri-City Metropolitan Area in Poland. The staring point for these considerations is associated with analysis of the actual situation of the area as well as key development trends as well as conditions influencing these. In result, a number of possible scenarios were pointed out along with possible consequences of their realization. This allows reflection on the possible consequences of the chosen path of development as well as preconditions which have to be taken into account once the particular scenario is chosen. The article – although focused on Tri-City Metropolitan Area – also allows to lay foundations for discussion on possible development scenarios for other metropolitan areas in Poland as well as in other countries”.

EN
Martensite and austenite start conditions are studied experimentally in an Fe-9% Cr-5%Ni-14%Mn-6%Si polycrystalline SMA under combined tension/compression-torsion loads. The martensite start condition is represented by an oval cone in the stress-temperature space, thus being different from the von Mises theory. The third invariant of the stress deviator has a marked effect. The austenite start condition is expressed by a polygonal cone in the same stress-temperature space. Each side of the cone corresponds to the martensite variants preferably induced during mechanical loading. The direction of the austenite start plane is determined by the direction of loading whereas the amount of variants governs the position of the plane.
