The article examines the readiness of vocational education (VE) applicants and graduates in Ukraine to work under Industry 5.0 conditions. The study is motivated by the urgent need to shift vocational education from the technology-driven paradigm of Industry 4.0 toward a human centered, sustainable, and resilient model, which demands the integration of new competencies. The primary objective was to assess the current level of preparedness among VE students and graduates, and to evaluate the balance between the technological, socio-emotional, and ethical (sustainable development) components of their professional competencies. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining a quantitative online survey (n = 273) with qualitative semi structured interviews (n = 15) of VE students and graduates. Key findings reveal an uneven level of readiness. While graduates demonstrate basic digital literacy, their practical experience with innovative technologies such as AI and robotics remains limited. Conversely, social and emotional skills – including teamwork, communication, and adaptability – were found to be relatively well developed. Despite high levels of environmental and social awareness among respondents, these principles are not yet sufficiently embedded in practical training. The study concludes that gaps exist in the integration of technological and ethical components, highlighting the need to strengthen practical technology courses and systematically incorporate sustainable development principles into VE curricula.

Artykuł analizuje gotowość kandydatów i absolwentów instytucji kształcenia zawodowego (WE) na Ukrainie do pracy w warunkach Przemysłu 5.0. Badania wynikają z pilnej potrzeby przejścia od paradygmatu Przemysłu 4.0, opartego na technologii, do modelu zorientowanego na człowieka, zrównoważonego i odpornego na kryzysy, który wymaga integracji nowych kompetencji. Głównym celem była ocena obecnego poziomu przygotowania studentów i absolwentów szkół zawodowych oraz ocena równowagi między komponentami technologicznymi, społeczno-emocjonalnymi i etycznymi (zrównoważony rozwój) w ich kompetencjach zawodowych. Zastosowano podejście mieszane, łącząc ilościową ankietę internetową (n = 273) z jakościowymi, częściowo ustrukturyzowanymi wywiadami (n = 15) ze studentami i absolwentami szkół zawodowych. Kluczowe ustalenia wskazują na nierównomierny poziom gotowości. Chociaż absolwenci wykazują podstawową znajomość technologii cyfrowych, ich praktyczne doświadczenie z innowacyjnymi technologiami, takimi jak sztuczna inteligencja i robotyka, pozostaje ograniczone. Z kolei umiejętności społeczne i emocjonalne – w tym praca zespołowa, komunikacja i zdolność adaptacji – okazały się stosunkowo dobrze rozwinięte. Pomimo wysokiego poziomu świadomości ekologicznej i społecznej wśród respondentów, zasady te nie są jeszcze wystarczająco zakorzenione w kształceniu praktycznym. Badanie wykazało luki w integracji elementów technologicznych i etycznych, co podkreśla potrzebę wzmocnienia praktycznych kursów technologicznych i systematycznego włączania zasad zrównoważonego rozwoju do programów nauczania w dziedzinie etyki zawodowej.
Purpose: The primary aim of the research was to investigate the motivations, demographic characteristics, and career outcomes of participants in the IPMA-Student certification program. The study sought to understand what drives students and young professionals to pursue certification, how their educational background and professional aspirations influence this decision, and what barriers may limit their progression to higher certification levels. By doing so, it aims to highlight the role of certification in early career development. It provides educators, employers, and certification organizations insights to support young professionals' professional growth. Design/methodology/approach: The research objectives were achieved through a combination of literature review and empirical data collection, focusing on the IPMA-Student certification program. The paper's theoretical and subject scope focus on the significance of professional certification, particularly the IPMA-Student certification, in developing competencies for students and early-career professionals. Findings: The research revealed several key insights into the motivations, demographics, and career impacts of the IPMA-Student certification for students and early-career professionals. Research limitations/implications: The research focused specifically on the IPMA-Student certification program in Poland. This narrow scope may only partially reflect trends in project management certification in other countries or within different certification frameworks. Practical implications: The research underscores the importance of recognizing certifications as a skill benchmark and offering support (e.g., funding or incentives) for employees to pursue them. Social implications: The data suggests that certifications significantly support gender equality in the workplace by empowering women to overcome barriers like the "glass ceiling". Originality/value: The paper offers a detailed examination of the IPMA-Student certification, a relatively understudied area within project management certification. This paper is valuable to several audiences, such as students and early-career professionals, educators and universities, certification bodies, employers, researchers, and policymakers.
Purpose: The purpose of the article is to analyze the role of managers in the context of the growing use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in decision-making processes. The author attempts to answer questions related to the competencies required for effective management in data-driven environments and identifies key challenges and under-researched areas concerning the adaptation of AI technologies within organizations. Methodology: The study was conducted among 85 managers, business owners, and leaders representing various management levels and economic sectors. A questionnaire method and in-depth interviews were used. The sample was purposefully selected, taking into account the level of AI implementation, company size, and industry. The analysis focused on attitudes toward AI, the scope of tool usage, and the competencies required for their effective application. Findings: Respondents most frequently used AI for data analysis, process automation, and customer relationship management. The key benefits identified were increased efficiency, more accurate decision-making, and cost reduction. The most important competencies included data analysis skills (86%), adaptability (74%), and critical thinking (73%). Smaller enterprises were less likely to implement AI due to financial constraints and a lack of technological competencies. Most managers recognized the need for further education in analytical tools and AI. Research limitations: The main limitation is the purposive sampling method, which restricts the generalizability of the results. The article highlights the need for further research on the barriers to AI implementation, particularly in sectors with a low level of digitalization. Practical implications: The research findings may influence training strategies within organizations and the development of competency programs for managers. The results suggest a need to invest in the development of digital and analytical skills among leaders. Social implications: The use of AI in management also requires reflection on ethical considerations, algorithmic transparency, and social responsibility, especially in the context of decisions that impact people. Originality/value: The article fills a research gap by combining theoretical and practical perspectives, providing a comprehensive view of managerial competencies in the age of AI. It is intended for scholars, management practitioners, and technology decision-makers.
Purpose: This study investigates the key competencies required of project managers when leading projects triggered by unexpected organizational crises. There is limited empirical research on competencies for such projects. The paper addresses this gap by examining the importance of skills in crisis response projects using one of the standard project management skillset frameworks. Design/methodology/approach: A quantitative survey was conducted among 151 project management professionals affiliated with professional communities such as the IPMA Poland and Agile Warsaw. Using the IPMA ICB v.4.0.1 framework, respondents rated the importance of twenty-eight defined competencies in the context of projects initiated in response to unexpected organizational or corporate crisis. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the coefficient of variation to determine priority competencies and the level of agreement among practitioners. Findings: The results show that interpersonal competencies are perceived as the most important when managing crisis response projects. These are followed by competencies related to risk management and the timely handling of information. Conversely, procedural and compliance-related competencies were rated less critical in the initial response phase. The findings suggest a shift in the competency profile needed for crisis contexts, emphasizing emotional intelligence, adaptability, and decision-making under uncertainty. Research limitations and implications: The study is limited by its geographic focus on Poland, the chosen population of practitioners, and its reliance on self-assessed perceptions rather than observed behavior. Future research should include cross-cultural comparisons, longitudinal tracking, and scenario-based simulations to understand better how competencies are applied during real crises. Practical implications: Findings can inform training, certification, and development programs by emphasizing soft skills, adaptive leadership, and crisis simulations. Organizations should reassess their competency frameworks to better prepare crisis managers for volatile environments and to benefit from assigning project managers with the adequate set of skills to the role of crisis managers. Social implications: Strengthening crisis management competencies can enhance organizational resilience, improve stakeholder trust, and mitigate the societal impact of disruptions related to “black swan” events, such as pandemics or cyberattacks. Originality/value: This is one of the first studies to apply the IPMA ICB v.4.0.1 framework to crises empirically. It offers a revised competency profile for crisis-response projects, providing actionable insights for practitioners, educators, and certifying bodies.
Purpose: the aim of this study is to show the possibility of using the critical incident technique (CIT) to identify the competence needs of academic teachers. Methodology: Interviews with academic teachers using the CIT allowed us to confirm the importance of substantive and methodological competencies. Findings: It has been shown that CIT provides the opportunity to identify the competencies of an academic teacher while also indicating the importance of personal and psychological competencies. Research limitations: the CIT only allows for qualitative research to be conducted. Pointing to the limitations of the conducted research, it is worth mentioning the number of respondents, the lack of the differentiation of the respondents due to seniority or the positions that they held. To confirm the obtained results, it would be worthwhile to conduct research in a quantitative model on a much larger sample of subjects. The results of such an analysis could be verified by a list of competencies of academic teachers that is established using the CIT. Quantitative analysis is a future direction of research. Practical implications: the analysis of the obtained empirical material emphasized the importance of the psychological competencies of academic teachers. The results of the research indicated possible competence gaps of academic staffs related to their abilities to cope with difficult situations that resulted from work at a university. In the light of the obtained results, it is necessary to consider the possibilities of developing a group of psychological competencies so that activities that support teachers in this area can be implemented at the organizational and university levels. Such support would strengthen the future teachers’ abilities to react positively in difficult situations and would also act as an intervention in the event of a situation that exceeds the employees’ abilities to cope independently. The importance of a clear system of procedures is also important here; this would support academic teachers - especially in crisis situations. Originality/value: the results of the research indicated the usefulness of the CIT in diagnosing the competencies of academic teachers. The article shows the importance of psychological competencies for the role of an academic teacher. The article is addressed to both academic staffs and university authorities.
Purpose: The study aims to identify changes in the importance of employee competencies in the competency structure under the influence of selected elements of the business environment. The results obtained are derived from literature analysis and empirical research. Design/methodology/approach: The problem in the study was formulated as the influence of selected elements of the macro-environment of enterprises (such as: aggressive competition, economic crisis, knowledge-based organization, modern technology, and internationalization) on the reconfiguration of the weights of employee competencies (among them: creativity, flexibility, information processing and knowledge generation, interdisciplinary knowledge, and interpersonal communication) in the competency structure. Findings: The strongest changes was perceived between the increase in the importance of knowledge and information in the business environment and the competencies of information processing and knowledge generation. The second strongest relationship was between the economic crisis and employee flexibility. The third was the relationship between the intensity of competition and employee creativity, and the last one was the relationship between the use of modern technology and employees' interdisciplinary knowledge. Research limitations/implications: Limitations of the article include the size of the sample only from Malopolska region and lack of the equivalence of the investigated group. Practical implications: The results of the conducted research draw attention to the current needs of enterprises in the field of employee competencies and therefore provide information for schools, students, unemployed people, employees of enterprises, and all those for whom it is important to acquire and develop their own competencies. Originality/value: The study pointed out the influence of selected elements of the macro-environment of enterprises on the reconfiguration of the weights of employee competencies in the competency structure.
Purpose: The purpose of this publication is to present the determinants of managerial competencies in the Leadership ecosystem 5.0. The identification of the elements of the Leadership ecosystem 5.0. and its characteristics were also performed. Design/methodology/approach: In the theoretical part, a critical literature analysis was conducted. This included international literature from major databases and Polish literature. Additionally, in order to identify research problems, a diagnostic survey method with Likert scale analysis was used. Findings: The research conducted was based on the authors' categorization of leadership competency areas. The most important competency areas were identified. Furthermore, the research results enabled the identification of criteria distinguishing a leader from a manager. Factors essential for the effective performance of the leader's role were presented. Additionally, indicators of competence within the context of the Leadership ecosystem 5.0 were highlighted. Research limitations/implications: The research is intended to be expanded in the future to include a more extensive and more diverse research sample. Practical implications: The research results and conclusions constitute implications for the development of competencies adequately matching the challenges of the Leadership ecosystem 5.0. The 5.0 Leadership ecosystem brings many benefits, such as increased efficiency, cost reduction, and sustainability. For managers responsible for team creation, member selection, and work organisation, the results and conclusions of the research are deemed a valuable information source aimed at enhancing the organisation's effectiveness. Originality/value: The article proposes an original model of the Leadership ecosystem 5.0. It presents the conceptualization process and characterizes the elements of this ecosystem.
Purpose: The article aims to diagnose the perception of future organizational challenges and the labor market from the perspective of competencies by employers of the industrial sector. Design/methodology/approach: In order to achieve the main goal, the following research question were asked: What actions are employers taking to meet future challenges, and which competencies are crucial for the expanding their organization? Based on the CAPI technique, we obtained a complete set of responses from 10 owners of manufacturing companies distinguished in the Business Gazelles 2023 Ranking. The theoretical part of the work, based on the analysis of the literature on the subject and industry studies, contains primarily a multidimensional view of the competences of the future. Findings: It was found that entrepreneurs, in the context of future challenges, mainly Industry 5.0. need adaptive processes (mainly technological), recruitment, and organizational changes in their company. Research limitations/implications: The author is aware that creating a timeless set of desired employee skills is impossible, and predicting a particular direction of change is postulated and carries a high risk of failure to fulfill the assumed forecasts. Moreover, the limitation of the pilot study is the small sample size and its regional affiliation. Practical implications: Thinking about future competencies has cognitive and practical justification because it allows us to outline the contextual background for the appropriate design of individual levels of teaching, employment, and self-development processes. Social implications: The obtained research results indicate the desired direction of education and acquiring new competences, which will dominate in the industrial sector in the coming years. They can also constitute a contribution to reflection on deepening the relationship between science and business, enabling the development of specific practical skills already during studies. Originality/value: The consequence of many factors and trends shaping reality is transformations in the labor market, including visible changes in the demand for specific competencies. Considering the above, it seems reasonable to carry out systematic measurements of the perception and understanding of fundamental market changes occurring in the labor market, which is the aim of this study. The added value of the article is the perspective of contemporary entrepreneurs in the industrial sector relating to the challenges, desired competences and specific actions that they implement in the context of the dynamics of Industry 5.0 development.
Purpose: Purpose of the article is to identify the competencies of accountants and their impact on initiation, internal and external employability. Design/methodology/approach: The study was carried out using a diagnostic survey method. A questionnaire was used as a survey technique for the study. Findings: The results indicate that accountants' employability is most strongly influenced by: their knowledge of accounting and taxation, digital competence and responsibility. Research limitations/implications: Survey according to a questionnaire developed by the author. The survey targeted accounting offices, the impact of accounting competence on employability in internal accounting was not verified. Practical implications: The results of the study can be helpful in developing accountants' competencies and shaping their position in the labor market. Social implications: Developed catalog of competencies can generate economic, social benefits. Originality/value: Research issues addressed demonstrate the impact of accountants' competencies on their employability.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine how the competencies expected by employers affect the possibility of achieving a wage equal to or above the average wage in the economy. Design/methodology/approach: Achieving the stated goal required a several-step approach. The first step was an analysis of the literature in terms of employers' expectations in the labor market and individual determinants of the salary received. Subsequently, the focus was on obtaining and checking the data (they came from the Human Capital Study -HCS). After this stage, an econometric model was estimated, which, after verifying its correctness, became the basis for analyzing the impact of individual competencies on the proposed salary. Findings: Based on the results of the logit model, it can be concluded that among the competencies that have a positive impact on wages should be distinguished, among others: the ability to operate a computer and specialized computer programs, the ability to assemble and repair machinery and technical equipment, the ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations, cooperation with people of other nationalities, willingness to travel frequently, and willingness to work unusual hours. Research limitations/implications: The main limitation of the survey was data gaps. Some employers were unwilling to state the amount they would offer for the indicated position. Practical implications: Employers have the opportunity to compare what aspects of employee competence, businesses pay attention to, and how they value them. Based on this data, the approach of a particular organization can be verified and adjusted to market conditions. Social implications: Based on the analysis, it is possible to see which competencies are particularly valued by employers. By developing them, employees can increase the likelihood of receiving a higher salary. Consequently, this will contribute to improving their living conditions. These results can also influence job seekers, who, by developing the indicated competencies, can adapt to the requirements of the labor market and thus shorten the job search period. Originality/value: The added value of the article is to show the expectations of employers and their direct impact on the chance of obtaining a high salary.

The article concerns logistics competencies in the theory, research and practice of functioning of supply chains. The publication is divided into two parts. The author, in the course of theoretical arguments (Logistics competencies in the theory, research and practice of functioning of supply chains – part 1) supplemented with the results of empirical research (Logistics competencies in the theory, research and practice of functioning of supply chains – part 2), assumes that that logistics competencies are the most valuable resource at both the micro- and meta-logistics levels. Some of the theoretical considerations focus on highlighting logistics competencies as one of the most important types of conditions for the functioning of supply chains. Competencies are viewed from two perspectives: competencies of supply chains and competencies of logistics staff. The empirical part of the publication reviews research on logistics competencies considered from the perspective of supply chain management. Based on the author's research, logistics HR competences useful in management at the levels of micro- and meta-logistics were identified.

In today’s dynamic, technology-driven, and diverse world of knowledge society, transport organisations should purposefully analyse and assess their operations since they often have to face problems emerging from the lack of knowledge and competencies of logistics specialists. The engineering competencies of logistics specialists are highly appreciated in transport systems. However, the selection of assessment criteria and determination of its importance is a difficult task for managers in this sector. Thus, it is reasonable to apply the multi-criteria methodologies, such as SAW, AHP, MOORA, and VIKOR, whilst determining the importance of criteria describing the competencies of logistics specialists in a transport organisation. Applying the multi-criteria methods provides prerequisites for an objective, precise, and the least time-consuming way to evaluate the engineering competencies of logistics specialists. The analysis of the results enables the most suitable decisions to utilise the significant potential of logistics specialists. The article examines the problem areas for evaluating the competencies of logistics specialists. The current paper presents the evaluation of logistics specialists’ competencies based on the methodology used to determine the importance of criteria (SAW and AHP methods). Additionally, further recommendations are suggested to effectively manage certain corrections on competencies in transport organisations under investigation.
Już przed COVID-19 świat liderów wydawał się skomplikowany, głównie ze względu na postępującą automatyzację i cyfryzację, a także zmienność i nieprzewidywalność biznesu. Pandemia pokazała, że poza „zwykłą” zmiennością, ostatnie dwa lata można uznać za wielowymiarowe transformacje, gdyż zarówno tempo, jak i skala zmian przerosły nasze wyobrażenia i wymagały od liderów błyskawicznego pozyskania nowych kompetencji.
Leadership research is an essential part of all areas of organisational science worldwide, and there is still a lack of studies in this research area. The paper aims to determine leadership competency perceptions and their sub-competencies characteristics and determinants in the fourth industrial revolution era. The research survey, conducted in 2018-2021, covered a sample of 100 respondents from organisations from the Czech Republic. The most important competencies for leadership are effective communication, innovation, cooperation, creativity, solving problems, lifelong learning, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and motivation and support of others. We selected statistical methods ANOVA and linear regression for the characteristics of the respondents and the cluster analysis for the leaders’ 4.0 types determination. The linear regression results showed that age, the field of education, position in the organisation and tenure in the organisation of the respondents affect their assessment of the level of leadership competency. We identified three management types that are currently facing the challenges of Industry 4.0: ICT-oriented Junior Managers, Top 4.0 Prepared Leaders, and Non-Creative Unmotivated Senior Directors. The contribution of this paper is the in-depth study in the area of perceived levels of partial competencies for leadership for different criteria of respondents.
The article contains a presentation of the results of analyses of studies relating to investing in the personnel of modern organizations. Conclusions from these analyses were related to the need to improve competences by the personnel of logistics companies. The conditions of their functioning and the resulting need to improve or acquire new knowledge and qualifications by employees were emphasized. The role of managers in the process of influencing personnel was highlighted, mainly in the context of creating work teams and striving for their high efficiency.
The article examines the issue of double diplomas in the context of improving the quality of education, using the example of Polish universities. It analyses the educational market of universities in Poland. The implementation of international double degree programs affects the formation of the innovative educational environment of the university and contributes to the development of students’ set of key competencies and the formation of human capital. The article describes the advantages and disadvantages of participating in double degree programs for students, faculty, and higher education, in general. It further shows the influence of the double diploma program on the quality of training of highly qualified specialists. The development and implementation of double degree educational programs in practice correspond to the general strategic interests of the development of Polish universities in the modern educational space from the point of view of improving the quality of education and scientific research, increasing the competitiveness of universities and generally comply with the main principles and provisions of the Bologna process. An algorithm for the implementation of double diploma programs has been developed, which will contribute to the internationalization of higher education, and its integration into the world educational space.

Artykuł analizuje problematykę podwójnych dyplomów w kontekście podnoszenia jakości kształcenia, na przykładzie polskich uczelni. Dokonano analizy rynku edukacyjnego szkół wyższych w Polsce. Realizacja międzynarodowych programów podwójnego dyplomu wpływa na kształtowanie innowacyjnego środowiska edukacyjnego uczelni oraz przyczynia się do rozwoju zestawu kompetencji kluczowych studentów i kształtowania kapitału ludzkiego. Opisano zalety i wady uczestnictwa w programach podwójnego dyplomu dla studentów, wykładowców i ogólnie szkolnictwa wyższego. Ujawniono wpływ programu podwójnego dyplomowania na jakość kształcenia wysoko wykwalifikowanych specjalistów. Rozwój i realizacja programów kształcenia dwustopniowego, w praktyce odpowiada ogólnym interesom strategicznym rozwoju polskich uczelni we współczesnej przestrzeni edukacyjnej. Purpose: Change is nowadays becoming an intrinsic part of any organization’s functioning. The concept of a learning organization that can meet the requirements of the VUCA principle is already common in literature. Since organizations are made up of people led by a leader/manager, thus requiring personal ability to deal with emerging problems. The aim of this paper is to present theoretical considerations and research analysis justifying its thesis that the diversity of a leader’s competencies significantly affects the effectiveness of management and ultimately determines their organization’s success. Design/methodology/approach: The aim of this paper was achieved by conducting an argumentative review of the literature available on the subject, which served as the basis for designing the methodological assumptions and further research. Survey methodology was selected as the main research method. The research was conducted among managers/leaders of a group of selected building materials companies. Such targeted research allowed for proper understanding of respondents’ position in relation to the subject matter and made it possible to draw conclusions. Findings: The conducted research leads to the conclusion that the variety and universality of a leader’s competencies affect the effectiveness of managing a team. The research has resulted in a proposal of a competency model of a modern manager able to effectively manage a company. The model considers the leading competencies as the basis for the proposed spectrum of skills. The leading competencies determining a manager’s actions and allow for the emphasis of the multidirectional nature of the desired features include self-organization, self-improvement, openness to new ideas, strict principles, making correct decisions, and taking care of the team’s relations and environment. The above-listed competencies can be used to generate further skills and traits, which can be used to create a complete competency model of an effective manager. Practical implications: The results of the conducted research and the proposed competency model constitute a valuable source of information for those responsible for managing a team in a difficult VUCA environment. The proposed approach to managerial competencies and in particular to their diversity will contribute to managers’ effectiveness and flexibility. Originality/value: The assumed research position pertains to learning organizations operating in dynamic environments. The key role in such an organization is played by a manager able to not only keep up with the changing conditions, but also anticipate them. The authors of this paper propose a model allowing managers/leaders to learn and evolve in response to emerging challenges, thus ensuring their company’s effectiveness.
Purpose: The article's primary goal is to identify the most important values in the life of representatives of Generation Z after their experience of remote work in an uncertain time of COVID-19 pandemic and critical competencies essentials at home-office. Design/methodology/approach: The authors conducted a diagnostic survey with a survey questionnaire. The questionnaire was carried out using the CAWI method. It was filled in by 310 respondents who represent Generation Z, are professionally active and worked remotely during the pandemic. Frequency and percentage statistics and descriptive parametric were applied in the statistical evaluation. Findings: The research results showed that, in Gen Z-ers' opinion, they need specific competencies to be effective in remote work. They indicated the most important ones: the ability to use remote technologies and manage their own time, independent problem solving, self-motivation and commitment. Research limitations/implications: The authors intend to continue the research carried out in the discussed topic, as well as in the field of adaptability to remote work of other three generations, i.e., Y, X and BB. Due to the limitations of the research sample, it is important to underline that generalizing the research results must be done with caution. Practical implications: Human resource managers are challenged to develop the competencies necessary for effective work in a virtual environment. It is also a guideline for which areas employees need support and appropriate training policy. Originality/value: Our paper contributes to the latest insight into essential competencies for Gen Z in remote work. Managers need this knowledge to manage young employees from the Z generation best and ensure their effectiveness while working remotely.
In the current circumstances, creation of a model of innovation manager competencies appears to be an important scientific and practical task of ensuring the innovative development of the economy. Identification of future needs in competencies enables the education system to adapt elaborately the process of professional training of innovative personnel and increase the competitiveness of educational programs. The following paper summarizes and examines the existing models of competencies and skills based on bibliometric analysis of published works and content analysis of documents in Scopus and Web of Science, two leading databases. Studied were the competencies of the managerial profession on junior and middle management levels engaged in innovation activities, which includes the following: assessment of the commercial potential of innovations; operational planning and organizing management of innovation activities; management of all stages of the innovation project; working with partners in the innovation market; control of measures to promote innovations in the market, etc. An approach to form a model of competencies of an innovation manager has been proposed in the form of an ordered list of five groups: professional, functional, digital, socio-cultural and cognitive competencies. The paper uses foresight methodology to determine the future demand for competencies and areas of professional innovative training. The authors analyze the potential of foresight methodology and study of future in the development of innovation management competencies. First and foremost, an attempt has been made to assess the level of training and significance in practice for managers of 61 competencies through a large-scale national survey of innovation experts working in Kazakhstan companies. The researchers consider modern methods of training and developing the competencies of innovation managers. For this purpose, the study has been supplemented with in-depth interviews.

W obecnych warunkach stworzenie modelu kompetencji menedżera innowacji wydaje się ważnym zadaniem naukowym i praktycznym zapewnienia innowacyjnego rozwoju gospodarki. Identyfikacja przyszłych potrzeb w zakresie kompetencji pozwala systemowi edukacji na wszechstronne dostosowywanie procesu doskonalenia zawodowego innowacyjnej kadry oraz zwiększanie konkurencyjności programów edukacyjnych. . Niniejszy artykuł podsumowuje i analizuje istniejące modele kompetencji i umiejętności w oparciu o analizę bibliometryczną opublikowanych prac oraz analizę treści dokumentów w dwóch wiodących bazach danych Scopus i Web of Science. Badano kompetencje zawodu menedżera na niższych i średnich szczeblach zarządzania zaangażowanego w działalność innowacyjną, w tym: ocenę komercyjnego potencjału innowacji; planowanie operacyjne i organizacja zarządzania działaniami innowacyjnymi; zarządzanie wszystkimi etapami projektu innowacyjnego; współpraca z partnerami na rynku innowacji; kontrola działań promujących innowacje na rynku itp. Zaproponowano podejście do kształtowania modelu kompetencji menedżera innowacji w postaci uporządkowanej listy pięciu grup: kompetencji zawodowych, funkcjonalnych, cyfrowych, społeczno-kulturowych i poznawczych . Artykuł wykorzystuje metodologię foresight do określenia przyszłego zapotrzebowania na kompetencje i obszary profesjonalnego szkolenia innowacyjnego. Autorzy analizują potencjał metodologii foresightu i badania przyszłości w rozwoju kompetencji zarządzania innowacjami. Przede wszystkim podjęto próbę oceny poziomu wyszkolenia i znaczenia w praktyce menedżerów 61 kompetencji poprzez szeroko zakrojone ogólnopolskie badanie ekspertów ds. innowacji pracujących w kazachskich firmach. Badacze rozważają nowoczesne metody szkolenia i rozwijania kompetencji menedżerów innowacji. W tym celu badanie zostało uzupełnione o wywiady pogłębione.
