In this paper, the Clothing Technology as one of the research activity area was presented. Within this domain, three main directions may be distinguished, i.e. clothing science, technology and organisation. It has been noticed that clothing did not present a subject of scientific activity at first, and all of innovation in its producing process were connected with the textile technology development. This domain has just arisen as a science as a result of the research intensification of special use clothing improving, inter alia for the needs of the military or space journeys. The dynamic development of material engineering let also improve the clothing of everyday use, what was accompanied by the modifications of article structure and treatment. Within the summing up part, the development tendencies of Clothing Science, in the area of clothing science, technology and production process organization, were presented.
