W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań symulacyjnych dotyczących efektywności identyfikacji rodzaju sygnału zakłócającego przy użyciu statystyk wyższego rzędu (kumulant). Badania przeprowadzono w ramach badań nad rozwojem systemów radia kognitywnego, zdolnych do adaptacyjnego doboru polityki przeciwdziałania zakłóceniom.

This article presents the results of simulation studies on the effectiveness of identifying the type of interfering signal using higher-order statistics (cumulant). The research was conducted as a part of cognitive radio systems development capable of adaptively selecting anti-interference policies. The research scenario included the analysis of QPSK payloads interfering with various target signals (2-tone, chirp, sweep) and AWGN noise. A decision rule based on the shortest Euclidean distance from reference values was used as a classifier. The results indicate that the cumulant-based method is effective in detecting and distinguishing certain types of interfering signals, especially chirp and sweep. At the same time, it was shown that the presence of a payload signal in the analyzed channel significantly complicates its detection and also reduces the classification confidence of the interfering signal itself.

Spectrum aggregation in 4G and 5G networks is a technique used to combine multiple frequency bands to boost communication performance. The cognitive radio feature improves the ability to combine spectrum in LTE and 5G environments by enabling dynamic spectrum sensing. Spectrum sensing is a major problem in spectrum aggregation due to the presence of various types of interference, such as noise. Phase noise is an issue due to its 1 MHz frequency offset experienced within 5G’s 28 GHz operating band, with the distorted signal generating more spectrum sensing-related errors. To solve this problem, the proposed work suggests an optimized deep learning-based semantic spectrum sensing model using three sets of optimizers (ResNet-50, DeepLab V3 and sand cat) offering a high detection accuracy of 99.7%with the optimized training parameter of a high signal-to-noise ratio equaling 40 dB.

The misuse of frequency bands leads to a spectrum shortage. The cognitive radio appears as a natural solution to this problem. A good exploitation of the frequency spectrum starts with a good detection through various techniques, each with its advantages and limitations. In this paper we worked on improving the accuracy of spectrum sensing by developing a new cnn model and the transfer learning of data, also we used the automatic modulation recognition technique to insure the previous knowledge of data witch helped in improving the quality of detection and the performance of the cnn model. our method is based on three aspects entitled aspect1, aspect2 and aspect3. In aspect1 we trained the model to preform the modulation recognition with 11 classes. In aspect2 the model was trained with tow classes an performed the spectrum sensing. In aspect 3 we used the pre-trained model from aspect1 to perform the spectrum sensing with data from aspect2.We trained the model with many types of signals from the dataset RadioML2016.10a as well as noise data that we generated. We also use transfer learning strategies to improve the performance of the sensing model. The results show that we were able to achieve maximum accuracy of 97.22% for the sensing and 99 % for the modulation classification as best accuracy which is very competitive and better than many other proposed techniques

The main concept behind employing cognitive radio is to enable secondary users (SUs) or unlicensed users to utilize the available spectrum. Spectrum sensing methods detect the existence of primary users (PUs) and have become the main topic of research in the CRN industry and in academia. This paper proposes a new framework based on the Adam gradient descent (Adam GD) algorithm to develop a spectrum sensing mechanism used in CRNs and detecting the availability of free channels. The signal's components are extracted from the received signal and the spectrum is searched for availability which is detected through a fusion center using the proposed algorithm. The proposed Adam GD algorithm attains the maximum detection probability rate and the minimum false alarm probability of 0.71 and 0.39, respectively, for a Rayleigh channel.

Vacant frequency bands are used in cognitive radio (CR) by incorporating the spectrum sensing (SS) technique. Spectrum sharing plays a central role in ensuring the effectiveness of CR applications. Therefore, a new multi-stage detector for robust signal and spectrum sensing applications is introduced here. Initially, the sampled signal is subjected to SNR estimation by using a convolutional neural network (CNN). Next, the detection strategy is selected in accordance with the predicted SNR levels of the received signal. Energy detector (ED) and singular value-based detector (SVD) are the solutions utilized in the event of high SNR, whilst refined non-negative matrix factorization (MNMF) is employed in the case of low SNR. CNN weights are chosen via the Levy updated sea lion optimization (LU-SLNO) algorithm inspired by the traditional sea lion optimization (SLNO) approach. Finally, the outcomes of the selected detectors are added, offering a precise decision on spectrum tenancy and existence of the signal.

Spectrum is a valuable resource for wireless communication technologies. Recent studies show that the scarcity of spectrum generates dominant interest for research in wireless communications. As spectrum is a natural resource, the only alternative to meet up spectrum inefficiency is to exploit the unutilized or underutilized spectrum accurately using the concept of Cognitive Radios (CRs). Cooperation among the CR nodes provide the best sensing performance utilizing maximum accuracy compared to other sensing approaches. Hence, maximum throughput is guaranteed with reliable data transmission. In this research article, the sensing-throughput trade-off issues are analysed for both stand-alone and cooperative cases. We use an energy detection scheme to measure the detection performances due to its operational simplicity and low-cost in use. The attemptable throughput of the cooperative CR network (CRN) is maximized while the services to licensed users are not being hampered. The more the CR nodes are in cooperation, the higher the detection performance which consecutively enriches throughput. The achievements of attainable throughput are supported under Rayleigh and Rician fading channels.

Widmo to cenne źródło technologii komunikacji bezprzewodowej.

In this paper a dynamic spectrum access (DSA) concept is explored for mitigating the paucity of spectral bandwidth in cognitive radio (CR) for opportunistic, dynamic access of the spectrum without any interference. Dynamic spectrum access schemes are proposed for a distributed cognitive radio network consisting of one secondary user (SU) and many primary users (PUs). The SU has to make decisions for accessing PU channels within discrete time slots. The design of sensing and access strategies that govern channel choice in each slot for near-optimal throughput performance of the SU may be formulated as a partially observable Markov decision process (POMDP). Furthermore, it is considered that the SU incurs a cost whenever it switches to a different channel. The switching cost is expressed in terms of delay, packet loss and packet overhead. In this work, the SU access policy based on a myopic approach is proposed and evaluated.

In cognitive radio technology, spectrum sensing is essential for detecting spectrum holes which may be allotted to secondary users. In this paper, an optimal voting rule is used for cooperative spectrum sensing while minimizing the total error rate (TER). The proposed spectrum sensing method is more energy-efficient and may be implemented in practice. It is relied upon in an improved energy detector whose utilization depends on the presence or absence of the primary user. Expressions for false alarm and missed detection probabilities are derived in the paper as well. Overall performance is analyzed both for AWGN and Rayleigh fading channels, in the presence of additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN). The optimum voting rule is applied to the cooperative spectrum sensing process in order to identify the optimum number of sensing nodes and the detection threshold. Finally, an energy-efficient spectrum sensing algorithm is proposed, requiring a lower number of cognitive users for a given error bound.

This paper presents an algorithm that supports the dynamic spectrum access process in cognitive radio networks by generating a sorted list of best radio channels or by identifying those frequency ranges that are not in use temporarily. The concept is based on the reinforcement learning technique named Q-learning. To evaluate the utility of individual radio channels, spectrum monitoring is performed. In the presented solution, the epsilon-greedy action selection method is used to indicate which channel should be monitored next. The article includes a description of the proposed algorithm, scenarios, metrics, and simulation results showing the correct operation of the approach relied upon to evaluate the utility of radio channels and the epsilon-greedy action selection method. Based on the performed tests, it is possible to determine algorithm parameters that should be used in this proposed deployment. The paper also presents a comparison of the results with two other action selection methods.

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) operate in an overcrowded electromagnetic environment, as the spectrum is shared by various wireless communication technologies. This gives rise to various challenges related to optimized and efficient spectrum utilization. Cognitive radio (CR) has emerged as a solution satisfying this requirement, as it is capable of adapting to the dynamic radio spectrum. Thanks to the deployment of cognitive radio in WSNs, the spectrum may be utilized in a more efficient manner. CR may identify the vacant channels dynamically, allowing the sensor nodes to effeectively communicate with each other. In this paper a clustering algorithm known as improved cluster-based channel assignment (ICBCA) is implemented, forming clusters of CR sensor nodes and then selecting vacant channels for data transmission purposes. Simulation results show that ICBCA outperforms existing clustering algorithms in CR sensor networks.

In this study, an energy-based spectrum sensing method combined with copula theory is proposed for cognitive radio systems. In the proposed spectrum sensing model, cognitive radio users first make their own local spectrum decision with energy-based spectrum sensing. Then, they forward their decision to the fusion center. In the fusion center, this decision is compared with the threshold value determined by copula theory and global spectrum decision is made. The test statistic at the fusion center were obtained with the Neyman Pearson approach. Thus, the fusion rule was created for the fusion center and necessary simulation studies were performed. According to the results of the simulation studies, the proposed detection method showed better results than the traditional energy based detection method.
