Virtual reality technologies are gaining increasing prominence in medical diagnostics and therapeutic applications. This study introduces the conceptual framework and current development status of a system specifically designed for vision diagnostics and therapy employing wireless virtual reality (VR) goggles. The virtualization of diagnostic tests enables enhanced automation in data analysis while facilitating rapid dissemination of laboratory findings to optometrists. Preliminary tests provide proof of the effectiveness of the proposed vision therapy solutions.

Rozwiązania sięgające po wirtualną rzeczywistość stają się coraz popularniejsze w diagnostyce i terapii medycznej. W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję i aktualny stan prac nad systemem dedykowanym do diagnostyki i terapii wzroku z użyciem bezprzewodowych gogli VR.
Accommodation - the eye’s ability to adjust focus at different distances - is a critical function of the human visual system. Its reliable evaluation and the potential for enhancement through therapy are of growing clinical and technological interest. This paper presents an experimental optoelectronic system that combines electronically controlled liquid lenses with image analysis techniques to enable objective assessment of eye accommodation. The concept, design, and preliminary test results of the system are described, highlighting its potential for future applications in vision diagnostics and therapy.

Akomodacja - zdolność oka do dostosowywania ostrości na różnych odległościach - jest kluczową funkcją ludzkiego układu wzrokowego. Jej wiarygodna ocena i potencjał poprawy poprzez terapię są przedmiotem rosnącego zainteresowania klinicznego i technologicznego. Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia eksperymentalny system optoelektroniczny, który łączy elektronicznie sterowane soczewki z technikami analizy obrazu, aby umożliwić obiektywną ocenę akomodacji oka. Opisano koncepcję, projekt i wstępne wyniki testów systemu, podkreślając jego potencjał w przyszłych zastosowaniach diagnostyki i terapii wzroku.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of extended home-based vision therapy as a treatment for symptomatic convergence insufficiency (CI) in young exophoric adults. Twenty-four adults with symptomatic exophoria at near with convergence insufficiency were divided into an experimental and a control group. The experimental group received 24 weeks of vision training, while the control group received no therapy. The three major outcome measures were the scores on the convergence insufficiency symptom survey V15 (CISS-V15), the near point of convergence and the positive fusional vergence at near. Only subjects from the experimental group demonstrated statistically and clinically significant changes in the CISS-V15 score (improvement of 20 points), near point of convergence (improvement of 5.5 cm) and positive fusional vergence at near (improvement of 15 Δ). No significant changes of either symptoms or signs were evident for the control group. The results presented in this study showed that extending the time and number of home based therapy techniques might be an effective treatment modality in adult subjects with CI. This therapy might be an alternative way for treatment of symptomatic exophoric CI subjects, who cannot attend office sessions.
