Sektor budowlany należy do gałęzi gospodarki o istotnym wpływie na środowisko. Wykorzystuje ogromne ilości zróżnicowanych surowców, wytwarza znaczne ilości odpadów i emituje znaczne ilości gazów cieplarnianych do atmosfery. Badania prowadzono w zakresie czterech wskaźników, tj. globalnego współczynnika ocieplenia [GWP], potencjału zakwaszenie gleby i wody [AP], potencjału eutrofizacji [EP] oraz potencjał tworzenia ozonu troposferycznego [POCP].

The construction sector is one of the branches of the economy with a significant impact on the environment. It uses a vast amount of different raw materials. Also, it produces substantial amounts of waste and emits high amounts of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Reducing the energy consumption and emissivity of buildings, decarbonizing existing energy sources, optimizing the use of renewable energy, and minimizing the carbon footprint of materials and construction works are imperative to counteract climate change. It is also a minimum plan for ensuring sustainable social development. The current environmental policy in the construction sector is insufficient and it results from the legal regulations currently in force. Assessment of construction products for the seventh basic requirement, sustainable use of natural resources, is voluntary and almost always neglected. Assessment tools, such as Type III Environmental Product Declarations [EPDs] for construction products, are not widely used. Moreover, these documents are poorly recognizable among consumers, proving that there is still insufficient environmental awareness. In addition, the emerging differences in environmental impact indicators values specified in environmental declarations, resulting from using differentiated approaches in setting system boundaries or the quality of available generic data, do not support the proper development of knowledge about the impact of construction products on the environment. In this work, an analysis of the environmental impact of cement, which is a component of adhesives used in the External Thermal Insulation Composite System [ETICS], was carried out. The study on four indicators, i.e., global warming potential [GWP], soil and water acidification potential [AP], eutrophication potential [EP], and tropospheric ozone formation potential [POCP], was performed.

EN
The building sector consumes one-third of global final energy and emits nearly 40% of total CO2 emission. To decrease those numbers, it is necessary to design sustainable buildings, which have low heat and cooling demand. The Passive House standard was designed to meet these requirements however, some imperfections were observed. Therefore, a new approach the “be 2226” standard was put forward. This paper presents major architectural differences of those concepts and discusses their advantages and disadvantages. The main purpose is to develop guidelines how to design energy-efficient passive architecture. The Author used own mixed research method that included literature studies, analyses of technical documentation, in situ examinations, own measurements, and infrared tests. The comparison of two passive standards established strong, proven solutions, as well as incompatibilities and flows of each standard. The research main findings are that all buildings should be built in the passive manner and it would be beneficial to implement mixed standard. The main conclusion is that architectural creation has a great impact on passive solutions in buildings.

This paper discusses the idea of combining a photovoltaic system with a heating film system to heat residential buildings. The analysis was performed for a newly built single-family house in Warsaw or its vicinity. The authors have selected the size of the photovoltaic installation, calculated the costs incurred by the user for the installation of a hybrid system, which were additionally compared to the cost of installing a gas installation (gas boiler) used for heating the building. The calculations were made for a single-family house with a usable area of 120 m2, the demand for utility energy for heating purposes in the newly built house was in the range of 10–50 kWh/m2/year. Based on the adopted parameters, the authors evaluated the economic efficiency of both investments (solutions) determining their net present values (NPV). The analysis takes the energy needed only for heating purposes into account. NPV for a heating system with a gas boiler with an investment outlay EUR 8,000 for buildings purchased for utility energy in the amount of 20 kWh/m2/year and the price for natural gas EUR 0.04 /kWh will be EUR –10,500 (for 15 years, discount rate r = 3%). For the same thermal needs (energy required) of the building, NPV for heating films + photovoltaic (HF + PV) will amount to – EUR 8,100. Comparing the variants will get a EUR 2,400 higher NPV for HF + PV. With a utility energy demand for heating purpose of 50 kWh/m2/year and gas heating installation investment cost of EUR 7,000, the NPV for both variants will be equal for natural gas price = EUR 0.035/kWh.

W niniejszym artykule zaprezentowano możliwości ogrzewania budynku mieszkalnego z zastosowaniem hybrydowego współdziałania systemu fotowoltaiki wraz z systemem folii grzewczych.

Research and development of energy-efficient materials have been essential for sustainable infrastructure growth. A considerable amount of money is being spent on various energy stabilization techniques worldwide to attain thermal comfort in buildings. Thus, lowering the energy demand through green materials is vital to save energy and the environment. In this paper, a new form of Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) has been developed and referred to as Ferro Cellular Lightweight Concrete Insulated Panel (FCIP). Comparative thermal efficiency and acoustic performance of FCIP and brick masonry walls have been tested experimentally. The thermal results show that FCIP allows just 2ºC rise in the internal temperature of the room chamber in two hours, whereas the brick masonry allows 9.5ºC rise in the internal temperature of the room chamber for the same period. Similarly, the acoustic results show that FCIP has 0.85 sound absorption coefficient compared to 0.2 for brick masonry wall. Further, the cost-benefit analysis was conducted based on the electricity consumption results of a building produced by the eQuest energy simulation program. The outcome shows that the building’s lifetime running cost gets reduced to 50% when FCIP replaces the concrete/brick masonry envelope.
